Sweet Orange Ginger Chicken Dump Dinner

By Manuela Williams

Everyone has busy days. Sometimes you can see them coming and plan for them, and other times they just surprise you! But even if a day is really busy, your family has to eat! While ordering take-out or going out to dinner is an option, it’s usually not the most frugal choice. Instead, wouldn’t it be better if you had something inexpensive and healthy already waiting to be made into dinner? That’s what dump recipes are for! Make and freeze this Sweet Orange Ginger Chicken Dump Dinner and you’ll be ready for any busy days that come up!

Dump recipes are such time savers! You can mix up a freezer dump meal really quickly, and when it comes time to cook it up all you have to do is dump the bag out into a baking dish or Crock-Pot! These can even be made without defrosting, for those really busy days! This particular recipe is from my very popular Dump & Go Dinners post! Take a look at the post for other possible flavors for chicken dump dinners!

Sweet Orange Ginger Chicken Dump Dinner

Ingredients

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts or 8 – 10 boneless chicken thighs (you can cut the chicken into cubes or strips before before freezing, or you can leave it whole)
1/4 cup orange marmalade
1 Tbsp. honey-mustard
3/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp. dried thyme
1/8 tsp red pepper (optional)
salt (optional)
pepper (optional)

Directions

To Freeze:

Sweet orange ginger chicken dump dinner1. Dump the chicken and all other ingredients into a gallon size freezer bag.
2. Squeeze out as much air from the bag as you can. Then label the bag and lay it flat in your freezer. Once your chicken dump dinner is frozen, it can be placed upright to save freezer space.

To Cook:
1. Defrost your frozen chicken dump dinner bag in your refrigerator overnight (I have also cooked these frozen and they were fine for us – I just increased my cooking time).

This is usually at around 25-35 min for defrosted chicken breasts. If cooking in a Crock-Pot, dump the contents in the Crock-Pot and cook on LOW for 6 hours or on HIGH for 4 hours or until the chicken is no longer pink.

Enjoy your sweet orange ginger chicken dump dinner! This pairs well with rice!

Have you ever made a dump dinner?

Don't have take-out on your next busy day! Instead, make this sweet orange ginger chicken dump dinner! Just dump it in a slow cooker or oven and enjoy!

I’ve never tried a dump recipe before, but this one sounds delicious (and easy!). The only thing I’d have to buy is orange marmalade. Plus, this is faster than driving to pick up Chinese takeout.

Thanks for sharing this post on Motivation Monday. Be sure to stop by next week, too. The party starts at 6:30pm on Sunday. http://outsidetheboxmom.com/category/motivation-monday/

I love a bit of sweetness with my meat. In fact, I just made something similar last night but not near as good as this sounds! Thanks for linking up with Delicious Dishes Recipe Party!
