Rather than worrying if you have the time to whip up a cake or a batch of cookies, why not choose a no-bake dessert recipe instead? This no-bake holiday treat takes less than 30 minutes to put together, and tastes delicious! Follow my recipe to make your own delicious Peppermint Rice Krispie Bars!

I used the seasonal holiday colored Rice Krispies cereal for these peppermint Rice Krispie bars, but they’d probably be just as tasty with the regular cereal! And while I cut mine into squares, feel free to take your cookie cutters and cut your bars out in fun holiday shapes! Kids would probably have a lot of fun helping you frost a Rice Krispie snowman or snowflake bar!
Peppermint Rice Krispie Bars
Ingredients
10 oz bag miniature marshmallows
3 Tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal with holiday colors
Non-stick cooking spray
8 x 8″ baking pan
Tub of vanilla frosting
1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies
Directions
1. Add your marshmallows and butter to a large microwave safe bowl and cook for about 1-2 minutes or until marshmallows start to get soft.
2. Stir your marshmallows and butter well and mix in your peppermint extract.
3. Now mix in your Rice Krispies cereal.
4. Grease your baking pan with a non-stick cooking spray and press your Rice Krispie treats into the pan.
5. Put in the freezer for about 15 minutes or until they start to firm up.
6. Frost your Rice Krispies with 1/2 tub of frosting and top with crushed peppermints.
7. Slice and enjoy!
