If you checked in on my Facebook page yesterday you know that we had a rainy day and that I decided to putter around and play with my china cabinet. Even though the rain ended mid afternoon, it was still a good day to stay inside. The humidity was just awful!

Here’s how it came out.
I think it looks nice and summery now. I hadn’t changed the dishes since last fall because I was busy getting the house ready to sell!
Which is unusual for me because I have a few dishes – {cough, cough} and the only way I can have them out to appreciate them is rotate them seasonally.
I love cottage style decorating and really enjoyed my rainy gloomy day but I’m back outside today!
Love it! I love me some red and chix!!
I love it! The colors are perfect and so cheery.
Love the polka dot dishes, Manuela! The different patterns of red and white you have look so good together in your cabinet. I’d say it was a good day spent indoors!
I love it Manuela! I am crazy about all of your precious things. When can I move in???
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Cheerful, indeed! It makes me smile just looking at your happy photos!
Love it! You did a great job! I love the yellow and red, so happy 🙂
That IS cheerful! I love the mix of the different patterns and the red pompom rick rack. We had some rain here earlier in the week — substantial downpours, but nothing like “a rainy day”. Hoping for some more rain today — that would mean a whole week without having to run the sprinkler!
Do you use the dishes you rotate into the china cabinet?(like on a daily basis, or for some special meals?)
I use the serving platters all the time, also the teacups. The plates not so much (except at Thanksgiving I use my Johnson Brothers Friendly Village set). I have a set of black transferware that I use for my everyday dishes that I do not use for display.
Manuela

Yes, it does look delightfully cheerful and summery. Why don’t I think of these things? It’s been raining all week and all I can think is how nice a nap sounds. ☺
I love, love your dishes! So cute and cheerful. Have a great weekend. Pamela
ABSOLUTELY LOVE your dishes. Those would make me smile everytime I walked past them!
Love it! So cheerful and happy!
I just love yellow and red! That little red rooster is fabulous!
Your cabinet would be right at home in my dining room!
I just love the way you decorated your cabinet. Looks like we have very similar taste. Can you tell me where you found the dishes with the flags and gingham trim and did you get them this season? I do believe I “need” some like that.
I’ve had those dishes for quite some time. I got them from Victoria Trading Co. Catalog. Not sure if they still carry them.
I love the cabinet. You always put the best colors together. I also love red. Can you ever have to much red? Hope you are having a great summer.
Oh, it’s beautiful and so cheerful, Manuela! You have some of the same dishes I have. Did you get them at Marshalls?
Brenda
Thanks Brenda! Nope, TJX

Very sweet Manuela, love the bunting. I am, always amazed how a bit of pom-pom trim to cheer up something!! CLarice
I love it! That’s the sort of cheeriness that I’m going for on my baker’s rack but still not quite achieving. I guess it’s the cabinet itself that makes such a difference.
I adore your little red striped bowls on the top shelf, they are so much fun. It all looks great! Dianntha
Beautiful 🙂
Such a pretty display! I have a teapot and mugs that match your little red poka dot plates. I love them. 🙂
I hope you have a great weekend!
~Liz

Ummm. . . yes, Manuela. . . you have a few dishes! 🙂
I like your cheerful summertime display. What a fun way to spend a rainy day! I admire the way you change out your dishes seasonally–my china cabinet looks nice, but the dishes are in the same place they’ve been for the last five years, I think!
Love it!
How gorgeous! I love all the red and splashes of yellow. It’s so cheery and uplifting.
Manuela, The cupboard looks so fresh and inviting dressed in red! I saw that china pattern and almost bought it, but I reigned myself in, LOL We all have so many dishes! I bet you’re glad to get back into the decorating mode now that you’re staying in your house. ~ Sue
