Easy Individual 7 Layer Dip Cups

By Manuela Williams

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

Dips are a great appetizer for parties and get-togethers. 7 layer dip has become a staple at most gatherings! I love to put mine together in individual cups for easy serving. Are you hosting or need a contribution to a game day or Cinco de Mayo party? 7 layer dip cups are just the thing with layers of fresh veggies, creamy refried beans, sour cream, guacamole, cheese  and other toppings – that equals loads of flavor! Plus you don’t have to worry about “double dippers”!

To make quick work of my individual cups I like to go ahead and set up a work station, assembly line style for speedy filling. Lay out all 7 of your ingredients, gather your small, clear plastic cups and they will be filled in no time at all, ready to enjoy!

7 Layer Dip Cups

Ingredients:

1- 15.5 oz can refried beans
2 Tbsp. water
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup diced tomatoes (or salsa)
¾ cup black olives, sliced
1 cup guacamole
1 cup shredded cheese- Mexican blend
(Optional 1 Tblsp Taco Seasoning – we prefer it without)
Tortilla Chips

Ingredients needed to make 7 Layer Dip Cups

Directions:

1. Combine refried beans and water in a bowl until smooth, thinning them out makes them much easier to dip (add the taco seasoning if you like your beans spicy).
2. If you are using tomatoes instead of premade salsa go ahead and chop them to your desired size now ( I do both but since it is nearly summer I am taking advantage of my fresh produce).
3. Place a spoon in the sour cream, beans, and guacamole- you don’t want to cross contaminate or you will mess up your pretty layers.
4. Scoop a heaping spoonful of refried beans, smooth with a spoon.
5. Continue the layer-guacamole, sour cream, diced tomatoes/salsa, lettuce, black olives, and shredded cheese. Smoothing wet layers with a spoon.
6. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Serve with tortilla chips. Makes 8 -9 oz. cups.

If you need more, just double the recipe! Serving the 7 layer dip in individual cups makes this the perfect party appetizer!

Your dip is so pretty and looks so yummy! Chips and dip is my addictions, I just can’t get enough. I love chocolate but if chocolate and chips with dip was placed in front of me I would pick the chip and dip. I love the little individual serving idea! Thanks for sharing your recipe. Pinning and sharing!

Brilliant! I’ve made 7-layer dip before, but I’ve never thought to make it in individual cups! This is a great idea.

I like that you serve as individual servings. It’s so easy to eat way too much dip when you just have a big bowl of dip.

I present Decorating Workshops in our town (like a traveling classroom) and I bring along an appetizer. This is a wonderful idea! (did you ever make walking tacos for kids? A bag of fritos, left in the bag, and topped with chili and shredded cheese. Give them a spoon and you’re done.)

We love 7 layer dip at our house. This is a great way to make sure that we all get the same amount. I like this idea for get togethers too, it is so visually pleasing.
