20 Brilliant Ways To Use Leftover Bread

We’ve been baking our own bread for years now but we don’t eat as many sandwiches as we used  and homemade bread doesn’t last as long as store bought bread,  so I always wind up with some bread in the freezer.  I don’t want to waste any food so I was wondering what you could make with leftover bread other than using it as a binder in meatloaf,  making stuffing, or using it for making french toast.  I found some great recipes for leftover bread!

I am guilty of tossing that last piece of dried heel. I need to at least freeze it for bread crumbs or something!

Some sound good – some not so much. Unfortunately, I tend to waste bread. I don’t eat a lot of bread, and when have some I know won’t be eaten fast enough and is a good quality bread I usually pitch it in the freezer. Did notice some croissants today that need to be thrown out as been in freezer way to long..
Hope you are enjoying the weekend.

LOL – I thought they all sounded good! We don’t eat much bread since we use sprouted wheat now and that’s expensive. So I’m very careful with saving what we don’t eat in the freezer and I at least use it in meatloaf/meat balls and sometimes bread crumbs. But I love bread pudding so I think I’ll be using some to make that and a few of the other recipes I shared.

I’m happy to say I’m not a huge bread person, although I do enjoy me some Nan and Brenda just reminded me I have some and I just got a hankering ;).

Usually I throw out leftover bread for the birds or squirrels. Carbs are my nemesis, so I try to get rid of them ASAP!

Like a lot of people, we’ve cut down on our bread eating, but we’ll still eat it once in awhile. When my hubby has a sandwich or I have a piece of toast, we use Ezekiel bread, which is all sprouted grains. Anyway, I just threw a bunch of old bread and crackers outside for the birds and squirrels this morning! I’ll have to check out some of these recipes, thank you.
