Spring Fluffing – China Cabinet

By Manuela Williams

Rhoda (Southern Hospitality) is hosting a Spring Fluffing Party. So be sure to check out all the other’s that are participating. I’m sure there will be lots of Spring Decorating Eye Candy and great ideas!

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links to Amazon and/or Etsy, which means that I may earn a small commission from some of the links in this post. Please see our Disclosure Page for more information.

I decided it was time to redo my living room china cabinet. I put away my brown transferware that you see on the second shelf. I usually bring it out around Thanksgiving and leave it up all winter. But now it’s time for it to go and to put something lighter in it’s place. I also changed the bottom transferware shelf just a bit to make it more springy.

Can you guess what this is? It’s a Victorian ironstone chamber pot! Every time I bring it out my family says Ewwwww! I placed some faux flowers in it and put it in the center of the shelf.

Then I put some of my other white dishes around it. These are mostly thrift store finds. The chamber pot is the only antique piece.

I added a bunny to my blue transferware shelf and just moved some things around. I’m really loving moss this season so I decided to sit my bunny on some reindeer moss.

Here’s the top half of the cabinet. The bottom is where I store all my china I’m not using and is usually blocked by husband’s big leather “man chair”!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll be back on Friday with a trip to the Ballard Outlet!

It looks lovely Manuela! I love how warm and “springy” your china cabinet looks. It’s funny your family’s reaction to the chamber pot. I need to do a little spring fluffing here. It seems the chicken coop is top priority right now!
    Have a fabulous shopping trip!

Hi Manuela, I haven’t been by in awhile. It is easy to loose track of favorite bloggers these days with so many great blogs. I’m so glad Rhoda has this party so we can all find eachother for the first time or to reconnect.
I adore your china cabinet before with the friendly village dishes and now with the white dishes and your bunny. It is all so pretty. I really want to put cup hooks in my cupboards but am suffering from fear of the drill. Love how yours look.
Good to talk to you again.

I had to laugh about the chamber pot. You shouldn’t have told your family what it was and they never would have known! It reminds me of the blue jean quilt I made my son. It has some scraps from his old plaid boxers in it! Oh well, he throws it on the floor and drags it around, and they were freshly laundered before I started sewing with them! LOL.

Your Spring fluffling looks wonderful! Good Job.

Manuela, I’m thinking that only you could get away with a chamber pot on the middle shelf of your china cabinet! It looks fantastic there. If I did that, it'd look like a chamber pot. Tell your family that any more "ews" out of them and you'll be using it as a soup tureen! ;>
