A really wonderful 6 part VIDEO tutorial on how to make a slipcover! I already have my drop cloth purchased from Lowe’s and I’m going to give it a try (It’ll probably take me months to make one as my sewing machine and I are not BFFs…yet). I’m a visual person so a video tutorial works better for me than written instructions. Let me just say I think it’s so generous of her to make a tutorial available for free on her blog. A lot of people would package that video to sell on their blog.

Painted mason jars. Aren’t they pretty! I found a bunch of mason jars in the garbage while walking the dog a few years ago and I always see them at the thrift store. So they’re very easy to find if you don’t already have some. This is on my to do list!

Dehydrated limes! Definitely want to try this next time I run across a deal on limes (or lemons). Read the comments for ways to use those limes.

Wow, love these tips and tutorials Manuela. The painted jars remind me of milk glass. I’m ALWAYS interested in keeping the coop cleaner too, so I’ll be hopping over to read that article.

Isn’t it! You can use that technique on so many other things. I made over an indoor planter many years ago doing something similar.

I always enjoy finding bloggers I haven’t read before. I hadn’t thought to ever paint those jars.

I use similar methods with my chicken coop, but only feed organic chicken feed. Now if only I could keep my kids’ playroom as clean as my chicken coop, I’d be a happy woman.

Great ideas! I wish I could figure out some way to get that low poop chicken coop info to my neighbor without being rude. His chickens are forever coming to our yard and pooping on the carport.

I think rule number one with chicken keeping is to be sensitive to your neighbors! Maybe he doesn’t know?
