Homemade Truffles for Valentine’s Day.
One of my favorite things about Valentine’s Day is that it’s a great opportunity to make some special desserts! One dessert I never get to make often enough is truffles! Of course, I’m talking about chocolate truffles, not mushroom truffles. Chocolate truffles are a delicious treat at any time of year, but can also be an easy way to make a sweet pink treat to serve to your favorite person on Valentine’s Day. Here is my recipe for Lovely Valentine’s Day Oreo Truffles!

Lovely Valentine’s Day Oreo Truffles
If you’re giving these out as a gift, consider putting them in cellophane treat bags for a nice and neat presentation!
Makes 48 truffles
Ingredients
- 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
- 36 chocolate sandwich cookies, like Oreos
- 12 oz light pink candy melts
- Valentine’s nonpareils
Directions
1. Crush the cookies into crumbs, using a bag and meat tenderizer, or a few pulses in a food processor.
2. Add cream cheese and crushed cookies to a bowl and beat with an electric hand mixer until completely combined.
3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and form the mixture into one inch balls, then set on a baking sheet.
4. Freeze for 10 minutes.
5. Melt candy over a double boiler or in a candy melting pot.
6. Line another baking sheet with parchment paper.
7. Remove balls from the freezer and dip into melted candy. Set on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and immediately top with sprinkles.
Then your homemade Valentine’s Day Oreo truffles are ready to be enjoyed!
