Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Brownies -Yum!

By Manuela Williams

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe
We love brownies in my house and usually we make them from scratch (this recipe). Although I’m a firm believer that a from scratch recipe is usually better for you, I occasionally use box mixes (especially when I find a good sale). Nothing wrong with a little convenience now and then! So you can make this recipe with a box mix or with homemade brownie mix. Which ever you choose,  I think you’ll love the sweet & salty flavor of these Pretzel Brownies!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Brownies
These brownies are a great combination of textures – soft & chewy with a layer of crunch!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Brownies

Ingredients:

1 package brownie mix (for 9×13 pan) and ingredients to make brownie mix
3 cups crushed pretzels (I use my food processor)
3/4 cup butter
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 450.

2. Melt butter in a large microwaveable bowl at 50% power for 1-2 minutes. Stir in Sugar and add pretzels. Press into a 13×9 baking pan. Bake 8 minutes. Cool.

3. Reduce oven heat to 350.

4. Prepare brownie mix following the directions on the package. Pour brownie mix over pretzel crust and bake 35 minutes or until the center comes out clean when poked with a toothpick. Cool completely.

5. In a small saucepan on the stove, melt chocolate chips and peanut butter on low heat stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and pour over top of brownie. Spread to create an even layer. Refrigerate 30 minutes.

6. Cut into 1.5″ x 1.5″ bars. Makes about 36-48 bars.

Pretzel Brownies

These pretzel brownies are very thick and very rich, so don’t cut them too big!

I hope you enjoy this tasty treat!
