We just finished up a project in our TV room and that in turn snowballed into me updating the room with some new curtains and pillows. So I thought I’d give you all a look at our cozy TV room (it’s also husband’s office but I won’t show you that part 🙂 )

To give you some background below is a photo of our old TV room downstairs.
This house is a split-foyer plan. 4 years ago we renovated the downstairs so that our daughter could have her own space while living at home while going to college. So basically we live on the top half of our house.
This is the project we finished.
I still need to paint some of the trim. We replaced the sliding doors to this closet with white louvered bi-fold doors. Besides looking nicer, it makes accessing all of the space of this small closet so much easier!
I had to stand IN THE ClOSET to take this photo to give you an idea of how small this rooms is!
We still need to do a little more work in there.
Our TV room used to be my daughter’s bedroom. So it still has her light blue walls and blue carpeting. We’re debating on whether to change out the carpeting before we sell this house or give a carpeting allowance to the new buyers or do nothing and hope they don’t mention it 🙂 .
Part of making the most of what you have is using rooms in such a way that benefit you and your family. Like my office/craft /husband’s dressing area room, this room is our TV room and my husband’s office (he offices out of the house one day a week so he doesn’t need much space).
Hope you enjoyed at look at something besides my living room or dining room! 🙂

Don’t mention it! It looks great just as it is.
Shelia says
HI Manuela! Everything looks so nice. Love the fabric in your curtains too. I agree with Vee – don’t mention it! 😉
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
Manuela says
Thanks Sheila! Well the carpet looks much better in the photo than real life! But I’m going to give it a good scrubbing and then decide. I did have one real estate agent tell me to replace it because it’s blue (that’s the color my daughter wanted 13 years ago!)
Penny @ The Comforts of Home says
Your curtains look similar to the ones I made for my living room! I love that you have repurposed your daughters old bedroom as your TV room.
Manuela says
Well it was either repurpose her room or put the tv in the living room and I’d rather have that be a room for conversation and reading. The joy of living in a small space!
I got the curtains from Cost Plus World Market. They’re lined which I thought was pretty nice for store bought curtains.

What a great room, I love it. Great transformation. Hugs, Marty

Did I miss a post where you said you were selling the house?
I love the film reels above the television.
I wanted to find my dad’s old film reels at my parents’ house, but my sister said she thinks my niece, who lives in the house, tossed them. I was so bummed.
Manuela says
Oh goodness, I would be so upset! Maybe she didn’t toss them – I would ask.
I mentioned it a few months ago I think. Our daughter is graduating in September so we’re looking to downsize house and yard. Hopefully we’ll move to where she has her first job. I think I mentioned to you before that it might be California – she’s an animator. I’m hoping she’ll stay in Atlanta or Florida!
Judy Clark says
Great room. Looks like a cozy place to watch TV and eat popcorn!

I really like the blue/brown combination. Nice and comfy space!
Theresa H. Roach says
Yes, we change the rooms as needed to make things work:) Love your TV room, looks VERY comfortable! Enjoy your day dear friend, BIG HUGS!
Kathy @ Creative Home Expressions says
I think you’ve made the most of your space, Manuela! Our little sectional is the same size as yours in our sunroom, which is our TV room. We realized in our old house that we much preferred a smaller room that we had for the kids to hang out in {with a TV} than our great room. It felt much cozier.
Debbie says
Our TV room/den is actually designed to be a bedroom so I know about small. Yours doesn’t feel that way at all in the pictures. It feels cozy instead. I absolutely love the use of the film reels and other movie stuff in there. It’s perfect. (Makes me want to hunt down some movie reels.)
Kathleen Grace says
It looks cozy and comfortable. I think it’s a great thing to switch rooms once in a while, it makes everything feel new:>)
Kristi says
It looks fantastic!! I always love seeing your home 🙂

Manuela says

Leann says
