For some reason I got a bee in my bonnet (don’t you love that saying – I mean who could ignore a bee in one’s bonnet? ) and for weeks I kept thinking about painting the outside part of the doors to my screened in porch.
So one day I went to Home Depot and bought a quart of paint and 4 hours later I my patio doors went from o.k. to pretty! What a quick and easy project! I think it was in the high 80’s the day I painted so the paint dried almost as fast as I put it on. Have a look!

The sign above the door is one I painted 4 years ago from an old leftover fence board we had. It almost looks like driftwood now! You can see the tutorial here.
The doors in your home don’t have to be your basic white if you don’t want them to be!
I used Behr Gulfwinds in a semi-gloss. I have quite a bit of paint left that I’ll be using for a few more outdoor projects!
It’s so nice to sit outside and look towards the doors and see that pop of pretty color!
Just a little detail that I think makes my screened porch even nicer to hang out in!

I LOVE your ‘new’ door! That color is just perfect! It’s amazing how those bees in our bonnet make us move faster and do things that make such a big difference.

Thank you Adrienne! Yes, I thought that bee was out of my bonnet, but now it’s back. Something about painting stripes on a wall…. 🙂

I love that shade of blue! We recently painted ours gray, and it did not go as smoothly. Ours had mutins and it was 20 degrees hotter. There are three of them we have only finished one completely and one is halfway there. We ended up peeling the paint off with our hands.

SUCH a calming and charming blue, Manuel! Love the flow of furniture and views from inside to out. Enjoy!

Bravo Manuela! Good job! They look stunning! I love the soft color. It gives it just enough happiness! 🙂
In my last house I was going to paint my front door a lovely shade of purple…but I was never brave enough! Now I live in a classy neighborhood with a homeowners association…and they might frown on it! ha! But who knows…in a few more years when they stop being so picky…I may just do it! 🙂

The doors are gorgeous! They were nice doors to start with, so that helps, but the colour you picked is perfect, I LOVE it! Isn’t it fun to finish a project that makes you feel good to stand back and look at.
Good job!
