15 DIY Fall Dollar Store Home Decor Projects
If you love crafting and making projects as much as I do, I recommend looking for items year round that you can use. Here are some places to look for cool stuff that you can turn into awesome crafts for all seasons.
- Thrift stores – Look for terracotta planters, ribbons, buttons, frames, and all sorts of other items. You will be amazed how cheaply they can be sold for and that you can do so much with them.
- Yard Sales – This is one of my favorite places to shop. People give stuff away for cheap just so they don’t have to take it back into their homes. Look for seasonal items that you can give new life to, as well as craft supplies.
- Buy, Sell, Trade Groups – Sometimes people will sell things for a high price in those groups, but once in a while you can find some good deals. Make sure to follow all the local buy, sell, and trade groups in your areas to see what you can find.

Some Tips on Dollar Store Fall Crafting
Let me say that if you’re going to paint it anyway, you can pretty much always start with a dollar store item, such as plastic pumpkins, seasonal figurines, plates and bowls, etc. Also, you can usually find any kind of embellishment imaginable at the dollar store. They have wreath forms, ribbon, twine, jars, candlesticks, lots of great looking fall flowers and more. Sometimes you need to be a little creative and maybe think outside of the box, but be sure to check the craft, stationary, and seasonal departments. There are often treasures to be found throughout. And one last thing, don’t overlook the premade decorations. These can often be dissembled, and broken down into the perfect pieces for your creations!
Hope you enjoy these budget decorating ideas and happy fall crafting!
