I was looking for easy to make DIY Christmas ornaments and found a great project that you can make that’s not only inexpensive but looks great as well! It’s a really easy DIY Twine Star from Lowe’s. It’s rated at a beginner skill level and should only cost about $10 to make if you have to buy all the supplies. But you may just have most of the supplies already!
Not only is this a perfect project for Christmas (you could even spray paint it red when it’s done) but it’s really great for anytime of year.
Tools
- Wood glue
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Materials
- 8-in wood shims, pack of 14
- 2 – 1/16-in natural twisted jute

Does this mean I have to start thinking about Christmas decor?
Your star turned out great.

LOL Yes I’m afraid so 🙂 I opened my pinterest up this morning it was basically nothing but Christmas pins. Fall is over. If it’s not Thanksgiving related it’s Christmas. I think Pinterest has ruined fall for me. I hardly got a chance to enjoy it this year!

How adorable! Do they carry the wood star at Lowes?

Red. white, and blue ones for patriotic holidays, a gold or silver one for Christmas, a natural one for anytime. That’s a good one.

OK well I’m loving this project! I might have to make a couple of these too. Love your new buffalo check “curtains”. I try to get into all this neutral stuff I see all over but my heart belongs to bright colors and fun patterns. Mimi

I know! I love it when I see photos on Pinterest, but when I try to do it at my home it just doesn’t feel right. I always have to throw some color in there!
