Vintage German Children’s Plates

By Manuela Williams

I thought I’d show you some plates that hang in my daughter’s room which I’ve never posted before. I think I’ve only shown her chalkboard paint door before. Mainly I don’t photograph her room because it’s a typical teen room and pretty much messy all the time (I’m not a Mom who cleans her kid’s room)!

She has the usual posters on the wall, Orlando Bloom (Johnny Depp until she found out he smokes LOL), the guys from Supernatural, and Titanic movie poster (her favorite movie). I’m suppose to look for a poster of Jason Statham her favorite ever since we saw Transporter 3! One of my favs too!

These are old German nursery rhyme plates that I collected for her when she was little. They’re too cute to put away even though she’s seventeen and they don’t quite go with all the Orlando Bloom stuff she has everywhere!

Baby Jumbo loves his tub. Doesn’t care how hard you scrub!

Charlie and Charlotte went one day. Out for a walk and lost their way!

They’re so sweet and all have animals around the outside except one. My daughter loves animals and I think that’s why she still likes these plates!

I am taking a blog break and will be back next week. I’ve been feeling a bit harried lately when visiting blogs so I’m spending the rest of week having a nice visit catching up with each of you.

Happy Mother’s day to all you Mom’s out there! I hope you all get spoiled on your special day or at the very least get to sleep in (that’s what I want – sleep!)

    Hi Manuela,
I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day, too. It’s nice to take a break sometimes, I’m just coming back from mine and I really missed everyone!! And I love love love those red candlesticks and the black frame (which I have also, but mine’s still ugly), thanks for the inspiration!

I love the plates! 🙂 I am currently working on 3 projects, my table and chairs, nursery, and peeling paint off the shutters, so I can relate to feeling harried. I won’t be posting too much on my blog until I get some of this stuff done! Hope your Mother’s Day is wonderful!

I love that your seventeen-year-old still is fond of her plates. I’d not seen any like them before. They are very special.

Hope that your Mother’s Day weekend is wonderful and that you get all the sleep that you need. Hope that the rain has stopped so that you can get busy with those projects requiring some sun. (I’m still plugging away on my project for Melissa’s, but I don’t know if I’ll make it on time, either, and I really can’t blame the weather.)

The plate are so darling! I love the rooster one of course! I also love the toile star in your other post! Did you decoupage it?? I had so much fun this week, gone 3 days with one day of company all day. So tired, but still went out another day at 9 am to after 8pm. I was hurting really bad yesterday! Paying for my outings. lol Then my daughter, who live next door to me, sent the children over with all the ingredients to make cookies! No meds for me! How could I refuse to make cookies! They had so much fun rolling out and cutting out the dough and deco the cookies. They have them hid from their Mom, for Mother’s Day. I was ready to drop. I have a new baby chick, and was sitting on the other eggs, so I changed out the nest where the chick could get out. She may now sit and hatch the other eggs. Have a good time off and have a Happy Mother’s Day
