A Totally Useless But Pretty Thing!

By Manuela Williams

Hi everyone! Do you use decorative tassels in your home? They are the one item that I can’t think of a reason for having other than they’re pretty! I do have a couple and I have a new one that that I want to show you!

dogtassel
Heather @ Butterfly Genes is making dog tassels now!

cabinet
So I asked her to make a Golden Retriever one because we love dogs and especially our Maxie (I called my daughter puppy yesterday!!!).
lamp
You can use tassels on a lamp!

roostertassel
This rooster tassel is by Heather also.

Fleurtassel
Add it to a piece of furniture you want to add some oomph to,

pillowtassel
Here’s a little pillow tassel I made for a door knob.

Chenilletassel
You can hang them  anywhere you want to express your decorating style!

Roostertassel2
AND they’re easy to move around! You know I love that!

There are lots of tutorials out there on how to make one so you can use your imagination and your own trim. This is my favorite Tassel Tutorial. I think I’m going to make one for fall. A pumpkin one would be so cute!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a fabulous week!

I LOVE the chicken tassel. My kitchen has chickens scattered around, so I'm currently racking my brain to think of a place to put a chicken tassel. Would it be totally outrageous to put knobs on all my cabinets just to have a place to put one?

I do love tassels–and Heather's are beautiful! She made me a cross tassel that I just love. I should post a photo of it on my blog. Of course, she'll get a lot more exposure from your writing about her than she would from me. It was great of you to provide a link to her. She's a sweetheart, and I loved ordering from her.

All your tassels are pretty! I know you love your golden retriever, though, so that one is especially cool. 🙂

love this post. I have a few tassels around here too. I may have to ask her to make me a beagle. Her hound dog looks similar to our beagle.

USELESS "NO WAY"… When something makes us feel wonderful and just to look at them makes us "SMILE", that means they have a definite purpose in life… Can you say that visitors are not SMILING when they look at them… AND how about conversation and the need to "touch them to see their wonderful textures"… They are DEFINITELY a needful thing… I LOVE THEM!!! AND I'm "SMILING", Hugs, Donna

That's a wonderful dog tassel. Yes, they're versatile…I've had mine moved all over the place. Currently, it's in the window over the latch.

I do have some tassels but they certainly aren't as pretty as yours! Mine are plain jane, now I feel sorry for them, maybe someday I will try to give them a little "ump"

I'm with you, I LOVE tassels too! My husband doesn't understand them, at all, but eh, whatever, I love them! ha! I had a question for you Manuela regarding china, I was wondering if you could help with. I recently received a box of about 10 tea cups {all different shapes, sizes, brands, etc.} and I was wondering if there was some place to look for matching saucers. Of course I'll try ebay, but is there somewhere else I should look too? Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm not sure if you've seen them yet, but Target is carrying a line of stoneware rooster kitchen accesories. When I saw the S&P shakers, I thought of you. I'm not a rooster/chicken collector, but I adore these! Destiny
