Tassels

By Manuela Williams

Harlequintassel
Hi everyone!  I love all the cute tassels I see all over blogland. You know the ones with the cute bunnies, birdhouses, nests etc on top. I guess you could say I’m deficient in the tassel department! I don’t have a whole lot of them. I’ve had this harlequin one for several years.

Chenilletassel
I have this one that’s really a Christmas ornament that I purchased at Michael’s on clearance.

CTassel
I liked the chenille tassels and the black and yellow harlequin  ribbon. I think I might have paid $5 for it.  I saw quite a few Christmas ornaments this year that would make great decorative tassels.

Groomtassel
Then there was this guy that I found at Goodwill last year and re-made into this.

bowtassell

So last month was my  22nd Wedding Anniversary and my Husband asked what I would like. My reply was that I’d like to buy a few things off Etsy – namely a tassel!
Ribbon

After looking at pages and pages and pages of tassels (something like 30 pages of tassels)…I chose this one. It had the colors I was looking for, was cute and would fit in with my decor AND was reasonably priced.
Rostertassel
I’m so pleased with my tassel! You know me, I’m not a shopper. It’s actually really difficult for me to pay full price for anything so it really has to be exactly what I want if I do so.

Roostertassel2

Isn’t it perfect! I love it and I  may have to teach myself the fine art of tasseling so that I can have a few more! I bought my cute tassel from Heather’s etsy shop Butterfly Genes .

Shopping etsy was so much fun! Much more fun than shopping at a regular store. I bought a few other things that I’ll share with you in the next few weeks. I think this was one of the best Anniversary gift ideas (I may request the same thing for my birthday)!

Thank you for dropping by today and have a great week!

I love tassels and your's are darling. I love the gold and black one hanging on the door {I believe}….that is also embellished so pretty. LOVE that red rooster one, so, of course, I'm on the way to check out that Etsy site! Thanks for the gorgeous photos!

Oh Manuela I just LOVE your new tassel! It's red and of course a rooster is always one of my favorite things to decoate with.

    It's just precious! ~Enjoy!

PS I will be mentioning a few bloggers who just added gorgeous tassels to their Etsy shops. I'll post tomorrow.

You made a good choice, Manuela! Your tassel is darling. I've gotten to know Heather a bit via her blog, and she's a darling girl. So you supported a hardworking wife and mother in addition to getting yourself a good product! Good for you!

I don't own one tassel!! But I love the one you just got. I always get my hubby an ebay gift card for his birthday. He loves it! That way he can get exactly what he wants. Plus he gets the thrill of the hunt and bidding and winning at the last possible second. A win, win!

I never knew tassels before blogging and then of the tassel queen herself, the Nester, introduced me to them. I really like them, I have never seen anything like them over here. I think you choose a really good one. The rooster looks great in your kitchen.

LOL, I understand your lack of tasseling! I am undertasseled, too! You did find an adorable one and on top of that, you used Etsy which I totally believe is a worthy group to support!

Your new tassel is really cute! I love the red gingham.

I enjoyed your snow post over the weekend. We got snow, too. Our dog loves it! It is so entertaining to watch him play in it. He likes it so much that whenever it snows, he sits at the door and whines to go outside. Hysterical!

Absolutely adorable! Love the chicken AND the red and white color. The little guy tassel was improved a lot by your paint and additions, he was a little creepy before! I have a few tassels and my family keep asking "What's with the tassels?" Lol, they just don't get it.

Beautiful tassels. Great idea asking for things on Etsy for a gift. I would love that too. Love the Christmas ornament tassel.

I think I've told you before, but that sconce with the red crystals is just beautiful.

I just got a wonderful tassel from Heather, too, Manuela! I drafted a post this afternoon mentioning it and Heather, and scheduled it to post tomorrow a.m. How funny because I mention Etsy shopping, too. Isn't it great? It's my new "go to" shopping resource!

Also, I don't feel funny now because I also bought a tassel that is supposed to be a Christmas tassel {from TJ Maxx}, but it's not Christmas colors and I still have it out. I'm a tassel nut!

I am not a rooster lover (sorry!), but I love tassels and use quite a few of them. I like more along the lines of your black and gold one – not so much the cutsey ones (although I do have a bunny tassel in my sunroom LOL!).

The Nester has an e-book on tassel making and there is a website http://www.betasseled.blogspot.com has some good instructions.

Congrats on your anniversary! Hubby and I just celebrated our 28th last week. We prefer to do a weekend getaway in place of gifts and did this over the past weekend – combining V-day.

I love etsy and thought of you when I recently bought some things. I'll send you an email with a link.
