Sowing Seeds:

By Manuela Williams

Here are a few ideas to help you cultivate your nest:

fancy pumpkins

source: Alisa Burke

Aren’t these hand painted pumpkinsĀ  from Alisa Burke amazing! She painted real pumpkins which is a good alternative if you can’t find fake pumpkins you like. Faux pumpkins do come in limited sizes. She has a wonderful tutorial that makes it seem really easy – she uses dimensional paint that you can get in any craft store.

I so plan on making some of these concrete garden balls. They’re basically perlite, peat moss and concrete. Easy to find ingredients. The Fairegarden has a wonderful tutorial.

What a cute way to re-use tea cups!

Have you read Elizabeth Maxon’s (Elizabeth House) post on Blogger Breakdown.Ā  There’s lots to think about whether you’re a blogger or a reader.

Have a great weekend!

The decorated pumpkins are too magnificent to waste on something that is going to rot, jmho. Sure, I’d have nothing save perfectly shaped faux pumpkins. Very intriguing and I am going to check the link out.

That article was very good though it raises more things to distress me than it solves. I wish we could all get to the place of blogging and commenting without obligation and I also wish that commenters would not pay any attention to how many comments have come before them. It’s not a race; it’s not a contest. It should just be fun. When it’s not, take a break or as one dear blogging buddy once told me, “Do what makes you feel lovely.”

These are great projects Manuela, but what I really must thank you for is the link to Elizabeth Maxon’s post. Amen and Amen! There just aren’t enough hours in the day to visit everyone, leave brilliant comments and forge a close friendship with every visitor. There often aren’t enough hours in my day to get a post up! I agree with Vee, it’s not a contest and we have to make sure that we don’t see it as one.

Oh I know! It really takes time just to get a post together not to mention all the other things that go along with blogging. Yes, I wish people would just relax about the whole blogging thing. But I think things have changed ever since money, book deals, tv shows etc have come into the blog world.

Love all the ideas. I really want to try some painted real ones this month. I also need to read about the blogger breakdown. Think I’ll do that right now.

Those are some neat ideas – Thanks for sharing. Don’t think I would have the patience to paint the pumpkins like that.
