Motto Plate Collection

By Manuela Williams

I’m sharing my motto plate collection today. This plate is special because a friend gave me the plate above as a house warming present for the first house we owned and it started this small collection. It combines so many things I love, plates for one and words. I love things with words or monograms on them. It’s such a lovely sentiment don’t ya think?

How true is that?! This one I found at a thrift store but all the rest came from ebay. I’ve been searching and searching for others. But usually I find the same ones I have but only in different colors

I have them displayed along the side of my china cabinet in my living room. I may start hanging plates from the ceiling – I’ve kinda met my capacity for plates and storage (although there’s still room on the side of this cabinet that needs filling)!

Have a wonderful weekend!

    Love the motto plates!
I collect church plates. They are a border in my kitchen…and I have begun a second row underneath the top row.
I am going to notice the motto plates from now on.
    Happy Friday!

Those are really cool. I know the feeling of running out of space 🙂 I have boxes in my garage of decor items that I rotate since there’s not room for everything

I think the only thing prettier than printed plates is printed plates with pretty sayings! I love them along the side of your cabinet-smart use of space.

I just found your blog and am so glad that I did. I spent WAY too much time browsing your archives at midnight. We have lots in common…Dave Ramsey, Tightwad Gazette, couponing, thrift stores, manager of our homes etc etc. Excited to have found a fun new blog (or “old” for you…new to me. )

That’s a great place to hang your plates.

I love the way you’ve decorated your screened in porch. I’m with your hubby in leaving the buffet the way it is. I like the softness that it brings to the room. I can see why you love that area of your house. It’s lovely!

I have the top one on your cabinet ( not shown in your post). At least I think it is the same…”When this you see, think of me”. My dear friend Jane gave it to me many years ago.
