China Cabinet Re-do & Hoop Art

By Manuela Williams

I got tired of working in the yard so I decided to come inside and work on some indoor projects but got distracted by my wonderful hoop art from etsy (Sparrow Mercantile) that came in the mail.

vintage towel hoop art

I hung it on the door to my china cabinet. Which then led me to re-arrange my china cabinet – which is ridiculous because I have to move it tomorrow since I’m finishing up painting the living room and now I have to move it filled with china. Crazy I know! But screwing eye hooks into a fence is so boring that I had to have a little fun!

red vintage rose tea cup

I love this cup and saucer so much!  It’s Red Vintage Rose by Gracie China.

polka dot bowls

Aren’t these fun bowls! They’re all from TJMaxx.

cottage style plates

Plates in my favorite colors!

cottage style china cabinet

No rhyme or reason to this display of china – just pieces I love.

What can I say….color just makes me happy!

You know I am right with you on that statement. It looks so cheerful. I love the pop of bright yellow.

It IS a cheerful cabinet. I’m trying so hard to get all my backgrounds more neutral so that when I do stuff like that, it really pops like yours does. I love red and yellow together no matter where and how it’s used.

I just know dealing with restoring your property line has been hard work – sorry you are having to deal with it all. I like the hoopart. I remember when many were creating those in the 80’s. I have some of the wooden hoops here and have not decided whether to get rid of them or get creative.
Storms rolled thru last night and early this morning – sure hope we don’t get a repeat tonight as I need some sleep.
    Have a great week.

Hi Manuela! I had to stop by to see what you’ve been up too! I LOVE COLOR too… even with all the white and soft colors out there in blog land and the design world… I still have to have my color!
Love your dishes… all of them… Your hoop art is charming… Enjoy this lovely time of year!

The hoop art is so charming and looks perfect there. You do things a bit like I do. Do first. Think later. =D You know I love you! And, yes, you certainly deserved to have a bit of fun after all those eye hooks. I always use a stick (actually a paint can opener) to turn them in once they get started..makes life just a bit easier. All the best!

I LOVE your china!!! I only have white myself, besides a couple inherited sets. Yours are gorgeous and I am jonesing (can’t figure out how to spell that :-)) for some color right now!

Love that hoop art and your cabinet looks great, too. You really have a knack for making things look just right.

Good luck with your trellis making. I felt sick for you when I read about your trees. My mom had a similar experience with the power line. It’s tough because you are powerless to stop the cutting.

My heartt gives a little flutter each time I see that red vintage rose china. I drool a little and hyperventilate. Yes. It’s love. I may sneak over there and pack up your entire hutch. If it ever comes up missing, you’ll know I was there:>)

Hi, I just LOVE all your dishes…in fact I have some of the 222 Fifth New Country pieces. I was just wondering where you purchased the big bowl that matches them. I would love to add it to my collection as well. Thanks in advance for all your help. Happy Spring!!
