20 Creative Easter Egg Decorating Ideas
Here are some Easter egg decorating tips:
- Add vinegar to your dye. The vinegar lowers the pH level of the liquid and helps the food coloring bind to the egg better. This will give you more vibrant colors and better staying power.
- Refrigerate after 2 hours. Eggs should not be out of the fridge for more than 2 hours (unless you aren’t going to eat them).
- Don’t be afraid to dye brown eggs. Dying brown eggs make the colors different, but they are still beautiful! I like to display both and have more color options!

So many cute ideas! I love the ones with flowers on them. A few years ago I bookmarked an Easter egg decoration that somehow used the dye from tissue paper. I think. I can’t remember and I lost it in the computer crash of 2012. I keep thinking one of you clever bloggers will post it again. You found some great ones here.

I found ones where the used the dye from silk ties/scarves etc. You mean just plain colored tissue paper that transfers that color to eggs or patterned tissue paper that transfers the pattern?

I know me too! I just can’t imagine doing that for something temporary though. I’d have to paint wooden or ceramic eggs like that to make it worth my time.
