New Year’s Eve Chocolate Dessert Treat Recipe.
A week from now will be the first day of 2019! I can’t believe it, it feels like the year has gone by so fast. But before we all get started with the New Year and all our New Year’s resolutions, we get to say good-bye to 2018 with a fun New Year’s Eve! For me, that means a pretty low-key party at home with the kids. But we will have fun New Year’s Eve party hats to wear, and now we’ll have party hats to eat! These chocolate party hat treats are really quick and easy to put together, so if you need to make a lot, it won’t take you long. I had my kids help decorate a few of these, and they had a blast, so this is a great winter break food activity, too!
New Year’s Party Hat Treats
Ingredients
Regular shaped ice cream cones
Semi-sweet chocolate chips
White decorator icing in a tube
Silver and gold sprinkles
Instructions
1. Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl. Heat on defrost mode for 1 minute, stir, and heat for 30 second intervals until the chocolate is completely melted.
2. Dip the ice cream cones into the melted chocolate, and place them on a wax paper lined baking sheet to dry and harden.
3. Once hardened, use white decorator’s icing to draw the pattern of your choice on your party hats.
4. White the icing is still wet, apply silver or gold sparkles to each party hat treat.
5. Let the icing harden, and serve immediately, or store in an airtight container on the counter.
