9 Tips For Keeping Your House Clean In Minutes A Day! These tips to keep your house clean are easy enough for anyone to manage, regardless of their schedule! A clean house doesn't have to take all day long. With the right plan in place, you can keep your home neat, orderly and clean with ease.

Assign your kids chores

One of the biggest ways to cut down on your personal cleaning time is to get the family involved. Mom shouldn’t be the only one doing the cleaning. Instead you should be assigning your kids chores to manage on their own each day. You would be surprised at what kids are capable of so start young. Good kid chores include putting their dishes in the dishwasher, picking up their toys, keeping their bedrooms clean, washing/drying dishes, vacuuming, dusting, wiping baseboards, etc. Pretty much anything that doesn’t require sharp objects, chemicals, or ladders. And the added benefit of this is that it teaches them important life skills that will (hopefully) lead to them growing up into tidy adults!

Wipe down your bathroom daily

It’s easier to clean your bathroom a little each day, rather than spend a whole hour on one day. Invest in a squeegee to wipe down showers and shower doors to prevent mold and mildew from appearing. This is easy to do right before you step out of the shower each day. Also, buy sanitizing wipes or make your own to wipe down counters, sinks and toilet seats on a daily basis. Once a week all you have to do is scrub the toilet bowl and possibly clean the mirrors.

Keep cleaning supplies all over your home

When supplies are convenient it is much easier to handle those little jobs that crop up. Keep supplies in your laundry room, all bathrooms, and in your kitchen, making it easy to access just what you need when you need it.

Clean up while you cook

Instead of making a huge mess that you have to spend hours cleaning up later, work smarter and clean up things as you cook. Load the dishwasher as you go, and cook food in containers that can also double as storage. This way, after the food’s cooled, you can transfer it straight to the fridge without dirtying any more dishes. And while it may be tempting to go relax while food cooks in the oven, you should really use that time to wipe down the counters and wash any dishes that can’t go in the dishwasher. This way, you can enjoy your meal without having to think about all cleaning that needs to be done!

Have a Schedule

Instead of tackling everything all at once, use a schedule to plan out your cleaning tasks! Do some things every day, others once a week, some others once a month, and a couple big tasks once a season. The infographic above should help you out!

Invest in proper storage

One of the major aspects of keeping your home clean is also keeping it neat. But it’s hard to have a neat home if you don’t have the right storage! And storage doesn’t just mean bins and bookcase. You might also find it handy to get magazine racks, dual purpose ottomans with storage space inside, and other such handy furniture. You and your family will find it much easier to keep rooms neat when there are clearly defined places for everything. As they say, “A place for everything, and everything in its place!”

Take your shoes off

Unless you’ve got some kind of perfectly pristine area, chances are that every time you come inside, you’re tracking in dirt, grass, leaves, and maybe even bugs. This is true whether you’ve got a lawn or not! If everyone takes their shoes off at the door, that means you don’t have to sweep and vaccuum over and over as people track in more and more grime. If you have hardwood floors, invest in some indoor slippers/booties that you can change into when your shoes are off. They’ll keep your feet warm, and (if they have grips on the bottom) will help keep you from slipping on the floor.

These tips to keep your house clean in minutes a day are all easy, practical things that anyone can implement into their routine. By breaking chores down and preventing messes, these tips will keep your home clean and you happy!

Except for the chores for kids (we are empty nesters), I do everything on this list and I can vouch for its effectiveness. I think a lot of people don’t do anything if they can’t do ‘everything’, kwim?
