I recently made this really easy (I mean super easy) scarf wreath. I think it’s a cute transitional winter wreath and it’s very inexpensive to make!

I actually got this cute lined scarf at Goodwill for $1.99 (maybe you have a ratty old scarf you’re not using) and the wreath form is one I had (you can find these straw wreath forms at basically any thrift store, the dollar store and of course craft stores). Your scarf doesn’t have to be white – it’s more the knit texture that makes it a winter wreath than the color.
Of course, fit the size of your wreath form to the size of your scarf. You also need some straight pins or safety pins.
Take your wreath form and wrap your scarf around it. Once your wreath form is fully covered, pin the scarf to itself at the back to secure it. You might need to put a couple of pins in strategic places so it stays put. If you have a scarf with fringe you can just tuck the fringe in the back or let the fringe hang at the bottom of the wreath and make it part of the design.
I added a pom pom to the wreath and put a little vintage brooch in the center. It’s hung with some white yarn.
I decided to hang this on my red hall tree in my foyer. Love red and white – it’s my favorite color combination (surprise!)
Hope you give it a try – it couldn’t be easier and it’s a great wreath to put up once you take your Christmas wreath down.

Thank you Judy! The nice thing about this project is that it doesn’t ruin the scarf (because I really love that scarf and want to wear it)!

GOOD ONE!!!
I think hanging it over a mirror is especially fun. It would make me feel warmer just seeing my face framed with the knit fabric.

Totally love it. I am going to go downstairs and see if I can repurpose a wreath with a scarf. Hugs!

I saw your wreath yesterday on Pinterest and thought how lovely it is, and now I see it this morning on Living Well Spending Less Thrifty Thursday Link Party. It must be a sign that I should try and make one. It just looks so warm and inviting…I’d like to hang it on my window and watch snow fall while sipping hot cocoa. 🙂
Manuela says
Hi Lisa,
I think it must be a sign! Yes, make one it’s so so easy. I think it’s the easier wreath I’ve ever made and it’s just perfect for winter. Plus you can leave it as is or embellish it with whatever you have.
Thanks for stopping by!
