I have a bunch of artificial hydrangea stems that I’ve collected over the years. By the time I normally buy them there aren’t too many left so I never have a lot of just one kind. I took my mix of hydrangeas and made simple fall centerpiece for my dining room table that I really like. I’ll probably add a few more pumpkins as we get closer to October.
I do have lots of real hydrangeas and in the summer I have plenty of fresh ones to use. Fresh flowers are lovely, but not every one wants to spend money on fresh flowers all time.

With faux flowers you pay for them once and they live forever!
I’m loving this red french stripe tablecloth I picked up at TJMaxx a few weeks ago. Wish my table always looked like this! We’re starting another puzzle soon, so I’m going to enjoy looking a my pretty table while I can!
Several people asked if my daughter could create a printable for our cow chalkboard (one lovely person actually wanted to buy my chalkboard). I’m happy to announce that my daughter has a digital download in her etsy shop of the cow chalkboard. You can find it here
She also has these other two chalkboard printables available.
All three would look great framed and displayed together! The downloads will print out 8 x 10 . You can try taking it to Staples to having them make an Engineering print which would make it bigger. Office Max/Depot also offer similar resizing services. Here’s a good post about how to turn a printable into a poster at little expense.
Manuela,
Okay, when can I move in? I’ll cook and clean for my room and board and in my spare time, I’ll follow you around (as your assistant!:)), colouring the house with all your creative pops of decor!! Such warmth and cozniess; love the trays on the wall, as well.
Poppy
LOL! If you’ll just cook I’ll still do the cleaning. It’s the cooking I don’t like 🙂
M’kay…what’s say I move in as an intern as well. I’ll cook too. And…and…and…I’ll I can sew, do hair, makeup, and I play the piano and…I’ll read to you? Deal?
I love your tablecloth and the hydrangeas are perfect in the center of your table. Your daughter’s work is wonderful – what a treat to have it available for us.

Such a pretty centerpiece! I love that tablecloth too, I wonder why our TJMaxx never seems to have such cute things. Maybe someone is beating me to the good stuff 🙂 Have a great day!
Your arrangement looks great. I love the red container they are sitting in. That tablecloth is great too!
Hi Manuela! I love your pretty floral! Love the mix of hydrangeas and your tablecloth is lovely. I have lots of faux flowers. I love real ones but don’t have them in my garden and will get inexpensive ones at the grocery store sometimes, but I always have my fauxs. Oh and thank you and your daughter for these darling printouts! I really appreciate your visits.
be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
I like your hydrangea arrangement Manuela. I have dried a lot of hydrangea from our shrub this year. They are just a perfect colour right now. Your table cloth is wonderful! Wish I could find one like that here. Have a great day!
Do you have a TJMaxx/Homegoods or Marshalls near you? I got mine at TJX and they still have quite a few at the store near me.
I love a mix of real and faux. Some are very opposed to faux, but not I. They are a frugal savings and look wonderful.
Love your new tablecloth and the hydrangea centerpiece is gorgeous!
LOVE your hydrangeas in the pretty fall colors. Thanks for the pig and rooster printables. I already pinned the cow. Pinning!
Thank you! My daughter always gets such a kick out of having her stuff pinned 🙂
What a great idea to do the chalkboard art into a printable, Manuela! I am hopeless at even writing on chalkboards so something like this is perfect for someone like me. Your hydrangea centerpiece looks great. I really like the colors and it looks very Fall-like while still giving Summer its last days.
Well I have a “secret” technique for writing on chalkboards. I’ll do a tutorial next time I change one of them.
Not only do the printables and the centerpiece looks great, I loved the big old shot of your dining room.
(I actually copycatted your tablecloth idea for the curtains. I found some red and white buffalo check for… get this… five bucks a piece. I’m going to hang them through Christmas where my black toile ones are and then again in the summer.
See? You are so inspirational!
$5!!! Where? I bought one red and white buffalo check tablecloth at TJMaxx – the same as the ones I have in my dining room. I haven’t been able to find another. Wouldn’t you know they only had one in the size I needed! I even checked other locations – nothing. That’s the only annoying thing about that store. It’s often just one of a kind.
Thank you – it’s hard to get a whole shot of that room. It’s not very big and the light from the patio doors always does something weird to my camera. It would help if I actually stopped and learned how to use my camera. 🙂
I love your hydrangea bouquet:) I just made a pretty arrangement for my kitchen table! Love using what I have and making something pretty:) Have a blessed evening and Friday, HUGS!
Hi, Manela:
Your dining room looks beautiful! I just noticed the “rug” under your dining table. Is it bamboo? Also, about the printables — any change of one with a sheep someday?? Thanks for sharing your beautiful home and decorating ideas.
Patti from California
Sorry about the typos — long day . . .
Hi Patti,
Yes, it’s bamboo with a very cushy backing. I got it from Decor Steals. Yes, she’ll make one with a sheep as soon as she finds a good image to use. Her etsy store button is on the bottom of my sidebar.
I just love your stuff. New to your blog.
I think that the faux flowers of today are so much better than years ago and use them all the time.
Love the chalkboard prints – your daughter is amazing!
Manuela your hydrangeas centerpiece is very pretty, love the colors. What a great printable. Love it!!!
Cynthia
Manuela! Your dining room is beautiful! I love the striped table runner too. Great idea for the cow printable. Great job on the centerpiece. I’m drying some of my hydrangea and hoping to capture some off the limelight hydrangea when they begin to turn burgundy.
Your dining room looks so pretty! So much beauty in simplicity.
