I’m doing a quick project that involves my china cabinet this weekend (at least I hope it will be quick). 🙂
So I thought I’d share some of my painted cottage cupboard inspiration with you.

Painting furniture can take a junky piece to fabulous with very little expense.
One of the reasons I love painted furniture is that you can get a whole new piece by just changing the color.
It’s my #1 favorite way to get a new look without spending a lot of money!
I’d much, much, MUCH rather paint furniture than walls!
So that’s what I’m up to this weekend.
Anybody else working on a project this weekend?

It’s so pretty already. What color are you paining it? I am hoping to go and buy the lumber for my raised bed so that my husband can get those started for me. Have a wonderful weekend, Patty

Very pretty inspiration pieces! I know that you’ll have fun with this project and it will turn out fabulously. No big projects for me this weekend, unless you call shoving furniture about a project.

I like the ones that are painted two colors, like the blue and white one…I have never thought to try that!
Can’t wait to see your finished project! Have a wonderful weekend!

I just might get started on my pantry makeover. It’s a large TV Armour right now, being used for storage… soon it will house all of my kitchen needs! I just need to move a few things around to get going on it and get paint of course! Can’t wait to see yours!

No….just hanging around and being lazy today…. Looking forward to seeing your finished project.

My husband has resumed painting the exterior of the house (on hiatus since Thanksgiving due to cold and wet weather on weekends), does that count? I just got home from doing parental duty at a fencing tournament our 18 yr old was fencing in. I’m going to get outside and do something when I’m done with this cup of chai — prune roses or some such.

These are all super CA-UTE ideas. I love how paint can immediately change the whole look of a piece, too 🙂 🙂 My favorite of all of these was the china cabinet that had the “Paris Flea Market” sign hanging up above it 🙂 Have a great weekend. Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather 🙂

I’m in between projects right now and trying to decide what to do next. If I could find some furniture that I wanted to paint, that would be it for me too. I love to paint (and refinish) furniture. I do NOT like painting walls.
BTW, I loved the finds for your daughter’s room. I remember those prints from the 60s with the soulful eyes.

Hi Manuela,
All the dressers are lovely, I couldn’t pick a favourite.
My project this weekend has been to continue sewing together the squares my 95yo Mum knits to make blankets for charity.

Hi Manuela, well you have certainly gotten my wheels turning. I love the china cabinet and those dishes are calling my name. I have so many solid colored dishes and nothing with design or floral on them like this. Can I ask? where’d you get them. They would look great in my kitchen with all the red, the red checked curtains, little roosters…Anyhow…
I’m thinking I need to get some plates with design on them…need to redo the china hutches and overhaul the kitchen. Your hutch is stunning…no it is perfect. Love it. Hope your weekend is wonderful!
Blessings,
Debbie

How did I miss this post????!!! Love it such pretty pops of EYE candy!! you KNOW I love the red. All of the photos are lovely. well, we shall be waiting to see what you have been up to , that’s for sure. I totally agree that paint is the thriftiest way to change the nest! 🙂 I have a number of projects sitting in the wings (well, how about sitting in the basement and garage)?? … waiting for temps to get to the place that I can actually paint something without freezing my toots off and have a better paint job to boot. I tried a couple of things in this cold…and said ENOUGH!!! Patience is a virtue!!! whew. Love the post, and enjoyed the chickens post by your guest too. 🙂 ((HUGS)) xo

I LOVE your style. I have no idea how I found your website but I’m going to enjoy checking back — all the previous posts plus current. I’m drooling with jealousy — the cabinet at the top is to die for. I love all the china and can’t figure out the patterns. I realize they may be things you’ve found along the way and are no longer available from the manufacturer — but it would be helpful looking on eBay. Thanks, Marie M.C., San Francisco.
