You don’t have to head to a fancy spa to get beautiful skin either- just whip up a batch of a skin sloughing and hydrating salt scrub like this one. My DIY Coconut Lime Salt Scrub leaves your skin fresh, dewey, and ultra soft with very little effort and money. Just reach into your pantry and pull out a few items you likely already have on hand.

It smells incredibly light and fresh-just like summer.
DIY Coconut Lime Salt Scrub
Ingredients:
1 cup coarse salt
½ cup organic coconut oil (solid softened)
1 tsp. coconut extract or coconut essential oil (optional)
2 limes
Directions:
1. Grate the skin of your limes- a micro planer works best and you only want the green not the white (pith) Get as much of the skin as you an.
2. Combine coarse sea salt, coconut oil, coconut extract/coconut essential oil (optional), and 1 tsp. of lime juice in a bowl- stir until well combined. You may need to adjust the ratio of coconut oil to salt to get the consistency you like.
3. Gently stir in lime zest to mix.
4. Transfer your mixture to an airtight jar – glass is always best when using citrus as the oils can erode at plastic.
To use salt scrub:
Wet area to be scrubbed then apply a generous scoop of scrub/
Rub in circular motion, rinse away.
Pat body to dry off after showering.
***Use caution-Coconut oil will make your shower or tub slippery be sure to run extra hot water to help it rinse down the drain.
