Beautiful Potting Benches DIY Ideas.
The potting bench that I used to have in the vegetable garden finally fell apart (although why something that’s supposedly made for the outdoors would rot is beyond me). My husband did make me a nice long one last year and although it’s functional I think it needs a few finishing touches. So I’m potting bench plotting dreaming (my poor husband, his list of projects just gets longer and longer…). Here are 15 Pretty DIY Potting Bench Ideas for inspiration!

The photo below is of my potting bench that fell apart. As you can see my husband had put an old sink in it so I could wash off my veggies in the garden (underneath was a bucket to catch the water).

No, I don’t already have one…I have a bench built much too high for inside the garage, but I want one outside. All of these are so charming. I really want one with a sink that can be easily rinsed out. I’ve been looking at those garden hose sink combos. Have you seen them? They’re not very charming, but they do look quite practical.

I would have loved a potting bench when we were at our old house, Manuela. Not just for potting up plants but I love when they are utilized for entertaining, too. No potting bench/table here. I rarely do much potting plants except when I plant annuals in the Spring. I do enjoy seeing the pretty/functional ones and would definitely like to have one if had the room and would use one more.

I have two potting benches, both built by my husband. They’re pretty basic, though one has an old cast iron sink in it. It’s not plumbed, but is right next to the hydrant with the garden hose. The other holds not only gardening tools, but sidewalk chalk, trucks, bubbles, and various other things the grandboys need while playing outside.
mine has a sink that’s not plumbed either but it’s next to the hose and I have a bucket underneath to catch the water to re-use.
That sounds like a handy place to keep the outdoor play stuff for the grands!
I see a few of them that i can make. I should have all the supplies already around to do the one with the chain link fence, and the ones with the windows.

I love these potting bench ideas. I could use something for sure but we get so much rain and I’d really need a sheltered place to put it. I have an old table in the garage and I think this year I’ll haul it outside to use. I’ve been using a bench which is definitely not big enough or high enough!
