Welcome To Fall Decorating

By Manuela Williams

….I hope! It’s been cool in the mornings so I’m hoping that we’re slipping into fall but you never know with Georgia weather!
Photo2

At any rate, I felt inspired to start a little fall decorating. I do like to celebrate the change in seasons! What better place to begin than my little foyer. It doesn’t take much to give that space a new feel with a few changes in accessories!
pinecones
I hot glued some ribbon onto pinecones that I picked up while walking Maxie last year. Those were hung off one of the hooks on my hall tree.

Bucket
Then I took an old thrift store champagne bucket and spray painted it yellow. I really wanted a brighter yellow but all I had was some soft yellow spray paint. But I think it came out very nice.
leaves

I added some faux fall foliage that I bought last year at Michael’s end of season sale. My best tip for decorating on a budget is to have patience, some self-control and buy this year for next! To me, half the fun is in figuring out how to use the things I have in a new way (last year the pinecones were in an apothecary jar). Everything doesn’t have to be new every year (I know I’m preaching to the choir)!

ribbon

I did buy some new ribbon!

Greenpumpkin

I’ve had this green pumpkin for a few years and  I added that to the bottom of the hall tree.

fallfoyer
Now my foyer is all ready to welcome fall. It didn’t take much and it wasn’t expensive!

fallurn

On a personal note, I enjoyed my time away from the computer. It really is a wonderful tool but it’s also a colossal time sucker! Anyway, I had a very nice break and I have some news to share later this week (don’t you hate when people tease~smile).

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!

I have very slowly started doing some fall decorating. It's been hard to get in the mood with 100 degree temperatures. Today, thanks to tropical storm Hermine, the weather is much more fall like, cool and rainy. I just might be inspired enough to venture up into my attic and dig through my boxes.

I love it! It looks so festive. We missed you, but I know what you mean about the time suck! Geez, how do any of these bloggers get projects done? It seems like I can read blogs or I can blog or I can just make stuff, but doing all three plus living my regular life is tough! But I must like it cuz I keep tryin'!

Fall is my favorite season, but I'm not ready to give up summer quite yet. Soon though. I like your pine cone garland. So simple, yet such a nice touch! I also like your indoor garden, seems it would be a tranquil spot in your home. But your recently painted hall tree takes the cake!

How's your pumpkin in the cinderblock coming?!
I look forward to more Fall inpiration from your blog.

You have created a foyer that extends a warm welcome for the fall season. It looks beautiful. I love the pine cone idea and might need to give it a try as pinecones are everywhere around here.
I've been doing a bit of fall decorating around here too. It seemed to be cooling off when I began, but now the heat (outside) is on once again. Oh well, sooner or later fall will really arrive and when it does I'll be ready.

I'm not sure how I discovered your blog, but I'm glad I did…it's beautiful. I am your newest follower and will definitely be back.

I started blogging in 2006, but last February (2009), I took a break…it ended up being a 15 month break. I understand how much time the computer takes.

Your foyer is lovely. You have decorated it beautifully.

I'm planning on getting my fall things out this week. It's in the upper 80's today but we're also getting cooler weather more than the warm (and low humidity now).

I'm planning my next internet break in mid or late October. I find there has to be a couple times a year when I make myself take a break.

LOVE your decorations (as usual). 🙂
