Vintage Red Tin With Roosters

By Manuela Williams

I stopped at a neighborhood garage sale Friday and found a cute old red storage tin with some roosters on it that I thought would be perfect for my kitchen!

I have this little shelf over the doorway that goes to the dining room where I currently have a little display of rooster items.

I found this shelf in one of  my neighbors garbage a few years ago.

I love the scallopy design and was so  happy that it added a little display area to my kitchen!

Isn’t it funny what neighbors will throw away? I’ve gotten some great stuff on trash day!

That shelf looks like you had it custom made for that door-way! How cute! The roosters look so nice there, also. Funny what some people toss….. it really is true that one person’s “junk” is another person’s treasure. You proved it beautifully.

That shelf is so adorable Manuela, I’ve never seen anything quite like it!
Love, love love the tin! It would also be pretty under the Christmas tree with a gift inside as well! I collect old tins just for that reason…to hold presents under the tree…and (or course) re use them every year!
    Love,

I either have or had a tin just like that! It’s so vintagy and cool! I should rummage through boxes to see if I still have mine. I love the display above the door. That shelf is really neat and I can’t believe your neighbor didn’t want it anymore!

I like that shelf above the doorway, and I would never have guessed that it wasn’t custom fit for that space! Great find!! I love the tin as well. I like roosters and in my desire/need for more colour in my life I’m falling in love with red as well!

The Mr and I are buying a new couch and I used one of your pictures in my post (with credit). If you would prefer that I remove it just let me know.

    Hi Manuela~
I love this tin…love the rooster shelf.
That is a cute shelf and an interesting place to put it for display. Sometimes…you have to think outside the box for display purposes… love this set up!
