Hi everyone! I thought I’d re-post a few tutorials that I’ve done in the past. I’ve been getting x-rays and a MRI etc done on my knees (which I re-injured running a few months ago) this week and just haven’t had the time or energy to take any new photos. I’m more exhuasted from waiting to see the various doctors than anything else!
How To Make a Teacup Birdfeeder

Here’s what you need:
You need a teacup (of course), a 1/2 inch piece of copper pipe, a 1/2 in. copper cap that will sit on top of the pipe, some strong waterproof glue. I read one direction on the internet where they said use hot glue….I don’t know if that will hold in wet weather. I made one last year that fell off it’s wooden post because I used the wrong glue. So use Bondo, E6000 or a similar type glue.
Then glue your saucer onto your cup and then glue your cap onto the saucer (with the opening up)and let that sit for several hours to dry. Then you just slip the whole thing onto your copper pipe which should already be in the ground. The good thing is you can easily take the teacup part off to dump the water that will collect when it rains. I’m not really going to put birdfeed in mine but you can!
Stamped Plate Project
Take any stamp that you like, Archival Ink in the color of your choice (which I get at Hobby Lobby but I’m sure any craft store would carry it).
Load your stamp with ink and center your stamp. Press nice and hard. Lift off without too much movement so you don’t smear the design.
Easy peasy! This is for decorative purposes only. I have rinsed it but I would not recommend scrubbing it. I made this in 2008 and still have it!
Chalkboad Paint Label
You can use chalkboard paint on just about anything! I added chalkboard paint labels to some glass jars in my pantry by taping off the area.
Paint inside the taped area with chalkboard paint. It may take more than one coat.
After it’s dry, prime it by covering it with some chalk, wipe off residue and now it’s ready to write on!
This makes the jars very versatile and it works on cups, plates, those old silver platers you can find every where etc!

Those are great, thanks so much for them. I tried the teacup one and didn't use the right glue. It fell off and broke! I was so sad.

I'm sorry your knees are injured Manuela. That's terrible. I hope you get better very soon. I'm not a fan of waiting for doctors appointments either. I have a lab work story from earlier this week I could write a book about. Sigh.

Sorry you are having problems with your knee. I know what you mean about the Dr. appts., tests, etc. Things like that wear me down.

Good Morning Manuela! I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your knees…that takes the pleasure out of doing a lot of things. I hate waiting for doctors…they seem to think their time is worth more than ours! Thank you for the wonderful tutorials…I love them all. I think my favorite is the silver planter(?) with the chalkboard message on it. I hope your knees are feeling a bit better today…good luck with your appointments. OH…my sister in law had surgery on both her knees at the same time and it wasn't that long before she was getting around just fine. So hang in there! Ah! the perfect thing to make with some of the teacups lounging in the basement! Wouldn't they make cute birdbaths for hummingbirds? I bet they would love a teacup of fresh water near their favorite flowers:>)
I hope they find out what's wrong. I don't have knee problems but my husband does, and I know they can be painful. Reposting your tutorials is a great idea.

I remember you darling tea cup bird feeder and your neat chalk labels, but I'm not sure I ever saw the post with the stamped plate. oh those plates are pretty. If you got them cheap, I wish I lived where you do. What a neat idea. I did try a vesion of your tea cup feeder. I kind of like glass holder as a use.
