Hi everyone! I’m having technical problems so even though I said I would have some bedroom photos today, I don’t! In the mean time, I thought I’d show you how my pumpkin patch is doing because it growing crazeee wild!
They seem to be loving this dry hot weather!

I planted all kinds of pumpkins this year.
Some I plan to use for decoration this fall.
I planted some small pie pumpkins and some large ones.
They’re growing up the arbor and over everything! I have to keep one end of the gate open because this vine started latching on to it and I couldn’t open it up to get in!
The bees are loving the blossoms! There are at least two or three bees in each blossom early in the morning. They seem almost drunk on the pollen! They’re just lolling around on the bottom~smile.
We love to eat anything pumpkin so I thought it would be fun to try using fresh pumpkin this fall instead of canned. I’ve never done that so we’ll see how it goes!
We really haven’t had any real rain in weeks and so far the pumpkins and eggplants are doing the best. Everything else…not so much!

Snap! I have crazy pumpkins too 🙂 I just posted about them last week, mine are just big ole jack -o-lanterns that I hope to be able to carve this year (if they last that long) we planted pie pumpkins last year but things got so overgrown we couldn't tell which ones were pie and which ones were for carving, so we didn't eat any of them!
You are so lucky!!!! I keep telling my dh he needs to plant these because I spend so much on them!
One year we didn't really have time for a vegetable garden so we planted pumpkins and peanuts! We even had those small ornamental pumpkins and they were so much fun! Love your garden pics! ♥
I think pumpkin plants are so pretty. I have some planted too. Yours are way ahead of mine, of course, but I hope mine take off like your have. I don't have any baby pumpkins yet but I do have some blossoms:>)
Hi Manuela. Great pumpkins. Those beautiful blossoms are edible as well if you catch them when they are first there. You can stuff the with cheese. Awesome. Have a great week.
Mr. Comforts and I were just talking about planting pumpkins next year. How far do they travel? I am trying to figure out if I have enough space! Yours look VERY healthy!
We have had rain all day today! Yeah!!! Maybe my brown grass will green up. And it is nice not to have to water the potager.

I planted one baby watermelon plant that is also going crazy. I guess it is all the heat we're having.
I was concerned about too much rain. My garden didn't like that. Once we stopped having heavy rain each day, everything looks much better.
I want to plant pumpkins next year.
I missed my pumpkin window again this year…but next year for sure. I think my husband has resolved himself to the fact that each year the grass will be shrinking. The upside is less mowing. We have three new fruit trees going in behind the garage area…an orange, a peach and a plum, so hopefully next year I'll have some canning to do. Thanks for the inspiration. Patty
My husband would be so jealous if he saw your pictures! He's been trying to grow pumpkins but unsuccessful. We didn't even try this year.

I planted some pumpkins and I think only three are still out there but they just haven't gotten enough water so they are only about 2 inches big! Yours are just so pretty!
Your pumpkin plants look healthy. We got about 3 ins. of rain during the wee hours this morning – the storm interrupted my sleep. 🙂 We did need the rain, but could have done without the fireworks and strong winds.

And look at all those sweet blossoms and wee pumpkins..it 's a favourite of mine too, and I guarantee that once you've had homemade, you'll never go back..and so easy, too!

I have an incrediby small garden since most of my yard is shady. This year we found some pumpkins sprouting in the yard from seeds from last year's Halloween pumpkins so we decided to keep a few. They are WILD! I hope we get to see pumpkins though. 😉
I like how you've let your pumpkins climb over and through your fence. When our kids were little, we always had a pumpkin patch just for jack-o-lanterns.

Those are the most beautiful pumpkin blossoms ever! My mother dipped them in egg batter and fried them….so delicious (that was 50 years ago)
Your pumpkins put ours to shame. But my gourds are growing quite wild. It is a little early yet here in Michigan so we may still get more than the 2 or 3 we see started so far.

How great to grown your own pumpkins.
I love pumpkin muffins and buckwheat pumpkin biscuits (gluten free). I haven't used fresh for years–kind of time consuming.

Little tidbit: I'm a pumpkin fanatic. I'll bet you have never met one before, have you? I eat pumpkin like Bubba (Gump) eats shrimp, just about any way that I can fix it.
I also love fall decorating the best and know that you are going to make great use of your hard work.
Your pumpkins look great! You will enjoy having them this fall without a doubt. The dry weather is rough. On one hand you hate to run up the water bill and on the other you hate to lose all you planted! ARGH!

Oh wow, I'd love to have the space for a pumpkin patch. They look beautiful and yummy at the same time.
Seems like a good year for pumpkins! My dear friend has them in her garden too and they are growing like weeds! Pumpkin soup with roasted pecans on top is my favorite…now you have me dreaming about that!

What crazy pumpkins! Ha ha! 🙂 I never do manage to plant squash for this very reason–I can never figure out where to put them all that they won't take up gobs and gobs of room!!!

I wish our tomato plants were growing as crazy as your pumpkins! It's my first time planting a garden. I guess I should just be glad they're actually growing! As for fresh pumpkin, I make a pumpking and carrot soup in the fall, and I've used both canned and fresh and it turns out great both ways. I've also put fresh pumpkin in the freezer, and it works great for the soup also!

We planted pumpkins but the plants rotted with all the rain and lack of sun – likewise the zuccini – only two plant remain and they are not so very healthy at this point. *sigh* Such is the life of a gardener – but we are all optimists because … there is always next year! I'm preparing beds for a fall garden and hoping we get a nice little crop of lettuce and peas again this fall!
I was thinking about you as I recklessly butchered a poor innocent but very overgrown shrub and pulled more weeds in the front flower beds this afternoon. I am beginning to think that I don't have the energy to invest in a garden these days and will have to pull everything out and go with low or no maintainance plants in the next year or two (unless the Lord heals of course) – but I comforted myself that I could always garden vicariously through favorite blogs and yours came to mind first!
Pretty, prolific pumpkin patch! I planted some of the usual jack-o-lantern variety, but now I'm wishing I'd tried some some minis and ornamentals (why didn't I think of that)?

I love pumpkins. . . but I've never grown any! Seeing yours is a lot of fun. Your garden is such a beautiful place!
Pick those blossoms. Stuff with cheese. Dip in egg and bread crumbs and fry in oil. Delicious. I have made about 400 this summer.
Oh I just love your Pumpkin patch. Squash bugs ate every bit of mine. I tried everything to kill them but it didn't work. We've had a pretty wet spring and summer so I guess they're just thriving! Fresh pumpkin will be so delicious for soup and pie. We also love the seeds roasted. Can't get enough. Yum!
