White

I have a two tone one – half of it is white the other purple.

I thought it was an all white one which I put in my white garden. Surprise!! A few years later I started getting purple blooms! Now it’s mostly purple since the white part hangs over the veggie garden and I keep those branches trimmed.

I have a whole line of them on the other side of our property and they’d all like some water! Please rain!!

You forgot to turn off your comments so I get to say that I wish that this plant would grow in my corner. It doesn't and I'd love to see one in person. Hope that you get some much-needed rain. It would be impossible to water enough for such big plants.

Wow that is beautiful. Will it grow north here where I live I wonder? I do not know anyone that has one.

I always enjoy them as they bloom when all the pretty Spring flowers are spent. Yours are beautiful.
My neighbor has one, but does not cut it back, so it is sad looking and almost no blooms.
    Have a great week.

Sunday Photo Feature

By Manuela Williams

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having wonderful weekends. It’s hot and humid here but I’m still outside working on numerous garden projects.
Photo1
I think I’m going to do a Sunday post that’s going to just be photos – no or little text. Taking photos is one of the things I love about blogging and often I just want to shoot something and post it without a whole lot of explanation. So we’ll see if this works out.

I just wanted to show you how pretty my blue framed mirror looks now that the hydrangeas are in bloom!
gazingball

The gazing ball was a Mother’s Day gift from my daughter. Love it! I didn’t even tell her to buy a blue one or that I wanted one for this very spot.

I’m thinking of not having comments open on Sundays. Do you care? My thought was you can just come and have a look and go on your merry way. But if you all feel strongly about the comments thing I can leave them open as usual.

Well, do what you wish on the comments. I could talk forever! That is a gorgeous gazing ball she got for you. I saw some "big mice" (does that mean they're rats?) running along my fence behind my red mirror last night. Horrified me! I'm behind on my reading. I shall scroll down to see what I've missed.

Your hydrangea are gorgeous Manuela. Ours still only have little tight green buds. But there are lots of them.

Raining here again today. We've had lots of that with a few humid days between.

    Happy Sunday!

Back again, Manuela. I leave comments disabled once in awhile. Most of the time when I do a holiday greeting of some kind. I did last week, when I added an extension to a post.

Look how big your hydrangeas are. Love the blue ball and mirror. Your daughter just knows you and knew that was the perfect gift for you. I love taking photos, too. You do what you want about the comments. I do like to leave one though. It is hot and sticky here isn't it.

  6. Vee says

    May 16, 2010 at 5:49 pm

I closed comments on my Sunday posts many months ago in hopes of giving my readers a break from commenting. There are quite a number who don't care for it, though. I think it's nice of you to even ask. Since you are asking, I'd say go ahead and try it. Either way, I'll be here. ;D And, yes, that blue-framed mirror just makes that corner pop all the more. Lovely hydrangeas!

Your flowers looks so pretty, and I love the color of that gazing ball. It matches great with the mirror too. I'm catching up on reading, and I just read your post on strawberries. We have them growing like crazy too, but we have to race to get them before the birds outside do. Do you have a gardening idea for that? As far as the comment thing is concerned, it's entirely up to you. I didn't even realize you could turn them off 🙂
Have a wonderful day in your garden.

Your garden is so lovely! Hydrangeas are one of my favorites and your blue mirror and gazing ball look fantastic next to your hydrangeas. In the new house we only have trees and a lawn, no flowers at all. One of the first things I want to plant is hydrangeas….any advise?
