Those of you that have been reading this blog for a long time know that almost every year I do a Christmas China cabinet. Normally I take out my summer display and replace it all with either my red transferware collection or my brown transferware collection or a combo. Not this year! I mentioned before that we plan on listing our house in a few months and I’ve already packed up a lot of dishes. So I just added some silver and white Christmas decorations to the aqua dishes I had in my china cabinet since May to make it more festive.
I’m keeping our Christmas decor pretty simple this year!

Last year I did a whole mantel of glitter houses which you can see here. This year I only used this blue one.
Here are a few more photos of my china cabinet.
I’ll show you my mantel on Wednesday! I think it’s the least amount of stuff I’ve ever had on my mantel but it still looks pretty! 🙂
Love your dishes!
Love it – still gives Christmas cheer!
Leann
I think it looks very pretty, Manuela! I remember what I thought would be our last Christmas at our old house. I was so tired of everything being restrained, from being on the market, that I wanted our last Christmas to be nice and I just put out whatever I wanted. : )
Thanks Kathy! Well I don’t plan on spending another Christmas here. I don’t want to have to pack up a lot of Christmas decorations when I have to pack up decorative stuff as it is. Things still look festive here just more restrained (for me anyway – you know I’m a more is better kind of gal) 🙂
Wow, I know it isn’t the usual for you but I think the aqua and silver looks so pretty together, kind of icy colors. You still manage to make it beautiful!
So gorgeous and sparkly! Love it!
I can’t remember, did you make all those glitter houses? I just loved those! I’m not spending any money this year. So if it isn’t already in the house, it isn’t being used. I love your style of decorating. You’ve never shown anything I haven’t loved. I’ve done the mantel but it looks too busy, so guess I’ll be working on it still.
Brenda
Thank you Brenda! That’s very kind of you to say. I didn’t make them but I embellished most of them. The aqua one in this post I added the silver beading to the roof and the wreath and silver bobs on the bottle brush trees. I think I sprinkled them all with more glitter too 🙂
Oh I went through all my Christmas decorations last year and gave a ton of them to Goodwill. That includes all the outdoor deer and Santa etc that we used to do. Even with giving a ton of decorations away I still have 6 boxes of decor items not including boxes for lights and tree decorations! I’m sure you also have plenty to work with!
Your cabinet looks lovely as usual, Manuela! I can imagine that you must have a lot of beautiful things to pack away, but you’ve made things look pretty and festive even without those gorgeous elements.
Thank you Richella! I’ve got too much stuff in general. I haven’t decided whether to have a big blowout garage sale before we move or after we move! But a garage sale is in my future either way!
Yes, it does. It looks very festive and beautiful.
I am beginning to feel less is best. I do less this year and still enjoy. I always like everything you do in your home. Very pretty.
Hi Debby!
Thank you! I agree less is more and enjoy what you do get done!
Your china cabinet display looks lovely. I love the soft tones. It seems lots of folks are simplifying their holiday decor. I know I’ve really pared down. Less is more.
WOW!!! Beautiful!
Always so pretty Manuela! That china cabinet really gets a workout…Mimi
So lovely, Manuela…I love the colors and all the wonderful goodies you brought together!
Love your dishes and the china cabinet looks wonderful with just the few touches. Everything went together so nicely!
Have a wonderful week!
Jen
It looks beautiful! I love seeing decorations nestled amongst everyday items.
Beautiful:) Enjoy your day dear Manuela, HUGS!
Absolutely stunning!
Thank you! I love the flowers on the inside of the teacups!
Beautiful! What kind are your blue dishes? I love them!
Thank you! They’re Homer Laughlin. There’s a link in the post to another post which gives the pattern name etc.
So pretty! It reminds me of something out of Romantic Homes magazine.
Beautiful! Where did you get the wooden pegged plate holders? I see these in store displays but have never seen anywhere where I could buy them myself.
This is gorgeous! Those glitter deer are so elegant!
Oh, just really beautiful Manuela. I love the softness of it all xox Clarice
Manuela, so beautiful from top to bottom!! HUGE fane of bottle brush trees. My goal is to find wreaths next year for the new house. I have a decent collection of trees but would love to add wreaths to my collection. PINNED!!
Cynthia
I love them! They look so classy and Christmasy…
