Show & Tell Friday – Canine Art

By Manuela Williams

Show and Tell

Our love of dogs is what really led us to collect dog art! We are owned by our wonderful Golden Retriever Maxie and we used to have a Cocker Spaniel, Buttons, but he was a victim of the tainted dog food episode and sadly, he passed away from kidney failure. We really do love all dogs (except that demon dog that lives behind us)! Of course, we have a lot of Golden Retriever paintings but we also have some other breeds mixed in.

We have some vintage pieces, alot of thrift store pieces, some reproductions and one paint by number that my daughter did.

Didn’t she do a good job!

I recently found another framed print at the thrift store for $3.23 AND we found an original piece I bought from ebay about 2-3 years ago. See what happens when you clean up! You find stuff from years ago!

All I had to do was frame it. I just bought a frame at Michaels on sale for $9 it already was matted.

This is the one I just found at the thrift store and it was already framed.

Of course I have to throw a few plates into the mix. I have four Spode Hunting Dog plates

That’s a view of the whole collection. Even though my foyer is tiny it is two stories so I try to make the most of the wall space – there’s plenty more space to add dog pictures as I find them!

Your collection is grouped together so nicely! I love it! I could not tell the pic was paint by numbers, wow she is an artist! I was going to say, are you up on a ladder, but your home a two story. Mine is single, have a stair case in kitchen, with one room upstairs, could have more, but we just use it to store. Love the prints and the matted frame you have. Looks great!

    That’s a wonderful display.

Just as soon as someone enters your home, they can tell at least one thing you are passionate about. 🙂

Although I had a very special Peke that was my best friend growing up, I am partial to my two furry felines best friends.

I was just thinking this morning how this will be the second winter since Storm’s passing. I still cry when I think of her.

I miss her just as much as I would miss a human friend.
