This is the first year that my Lady Banks Rose (Rosa Banksiae) has done really well. It’s so beautiful this year I had to share it with you!
Not only is she drought tolerant but she’s thornless!

I never have any problems with her other than she grows quickly. She’s growing up the Crepe Myrtle! I’m going to have to prune her hard after she stops blooming.
Lady Banks only blooms once. So you have to enjoy her when she does as you won’t get another chance until next year.
My poor one eared rabbit! I’ve been looking for his other ear – it must be somewhere in the garden?
I hope you enjoyed seeing one of my favorite roses. All the roses seem on the verge of blooming!
The Toile & Rooster Giveaway is open until tonight. So there’s still time if you haven’t already left a comment and would like to do so. The post is below this one, the winner will be announced on Wednesday morning.

What a beauty! Your yard is already looking really nice. Ours is coming along too.
I have to tell you that I have a plate hanging on my potting bench. My girlfriend, who is not a gardener at all, came last summer. When she saw that plate in the backyard she was completely perplexed. I think she could not understand why on earth someone would hang a plate outside. I just laughed. 🙂

That's gorgeous. We are in a new house and I'm trying to decide what to plant along our back fence. I would love something climbing. I usually don't care for roses because of the thorns, but those would work perfectly. Now to figure out if they would work in Texas.
Stephanie @ La Dolce Vita says
Gorgeous! She is a beauty. I don't really love yellow roses, but these made a believer out of me!
Penny @ The Comforts of Home/Lavender Hill Studio says

What a beautiful, beautiful rose bush. I have been studying antique roses from a catalog and would love to grow something like that. Your display, with the plates, the one eared bunny, etc. are so pretty… so feminine! Maybe you can find that bunny a hat, if you can't find his ear. LOL

Your yard is simply beautiful, Manuela! My neighbor and I both purchased a Lady Banks rose last year (hers is the same as yours; I think mine will have white blooms). Hers is growing in leaps and bounds. But after the winter we had, I felt "compelled" to trim mine back. Mistake! Now I have no blooms and hers is full. Oh well, live and learn.

When I was a young girl I used to help Mrs. Melton in her garden. She had a Lady Banks Rose and it became one of my favorite roses. I had a huge one at our previous house but haven't purchased one for our Colorado home yet- You have reminded me to be her on my list!! Thanks!
Did you know there is a white variety also?

Your Lady Banks just takes my breath away. I do so wish they would grow up in this area. I'd have one cascading over the garage and another on the barn.
Love the things you do with plates. Very unique. Gives the impression of an actual room outside. Funny how little things like that make an big statement.

I just love rambler roses, they are so wonderfully wild. I really cut back mine a few weeks ago. So I am not expecting any blooms on it this year. But it needed to be done. I have to file your lady Banks in my garden journal because I could use a rose without thorns.

I had these in my yard in California and loved them. Your yard looks fabulous. I've been looking at all your "garden" posts and I see that I need to get to work in my yard:) I still have tendonitus in my left wrist, so I can't pick up much…real bummer:)
