Hi everyone! Today I’m going to show you how to make a coffee filter wreath. It’s super easy, very inexpensive but doesn’t look it!
I had quite a lot of people ask me how I made the coffee filter wreath when I showed the one below which is in my dining room as part of my Easter decorations.
Unfortunately I didn’t take photos at the time I made this one because I thought it was old news and y’all had already seen how to make one. But I guess I was wrong!
How to make a coffee filter wreath

#1 – you need a wreath form
I didn’t have a wreath form when I made the one in the dining room. So I took a piece of posterboard and traced around a big plate for the outside and then a smaller plate for the inside so I had a big donut. That’s what I used for that one.
I made one recently for my living room and it’s a rectangle. I still didn’t have a wreath form so I used a piece of foam core and cut out a rectangle shaped donut this time. Or you can go to the dollar store and get yourself a $1 Styrofoam wreath.
As you can see you need coffee filters. They come in natural (brown) and white. The fun thing about coffee filters is that you can dye them any color you want. I started to dye some red and then decided to go with white.
All you do is take a filter and make a rosette by scrunching the filter from the center and then you hot glue it all around your form. Have your glue gun on low because those filters are thin and you will burn yourself if it’s on high! Ask me how I know LOL!
I start on the inside and go all the way around and then work on the outside and then fill in as needed. I put the “flowers” close together.
When I was done I glued some ribbon onto the back and hung it off my china cabinet door.
I made the bow separately and hot glued it to the ribbon.
Isn’t that easy! It’s a bit monotonous making those rosettes so watch a movie or something while you’re doing it. Also I don’t feel the edges need anything to finish them as the rosettes cover both the inside and outside edges.
I think it looks like a wreath made of carnations.
I hope you try it! You can get coffee filters at the dollar store and you can use posterboard if you want or re-purpose a cereal box etc if you don’t have a wreath form. So it’s a inexpensive project to do but doesn’t look cheap! It’s really a very high end looking craft even though it costs just pennies to make.

It does look like carnations, Manuela! I like this because it looks quick and inexpensive to do. I may have to give this a try. Love both the round and rectangular shapes. I really like the jewel embellishment you added to the bow at the top of the rectangular one.

I like to make single flowers. I just tie twine or ribbon on the bottom. I have put them in mason jars with various things on them or in teacups. I usually use my old coffee to stain them.

Thank you for sharing the coffee filter wreath tutorial. I will need something to go in the place of my Christmas wreath on the porch ater the holidays. I thought your coffee filter wreath was adorable. It looks so much like snow. I may add a few sparkles of giltter and snow flakes to it so that appears more wintery. Thanks again for sharing.
