Thought I’d share some garden photos as everything is starting to bloom!

lilac
That’s my one lilac bloom so far! I envy those of you who are able to easily grow this shrub. I had a huge old bush at our house in New Jersey. So fragrant and beautiful!

Spoonmarker
That pretty spoon marker was gift from my bloggy friend Clarice.

knockoutrose
My Knockout Roses are blooming!

littlegreenhouse
I bought a little $30 greenhouse from Big Lots last month and it’s doing surprisingly well. It comes with two solar lights that you can clip on to any shelf. Unfortunately (or fortunately) it’s very light weight (easy to take apart and move) so I have to add some rocks to keep it from falling over when it get’s windy on my porch.
seedlings
I’ve been able to start quite a few seedlings! Which I never do (I’m more of a direct sow kind of girl). It’s also a good place to hold some veggie starts that I bought that I can’t plant outside yet.

Thanks to all of you that came by to get cinderblocks and rocks. It was fun getting to meet you! I have about 20 cinderblocks left if anyone wants to come and get them.

I’ll probably be having a garage sale in April and I’ll let you all know when I have a date. I’ll be getting rid of lots of decorative accessory type things. I’m also selling quite a bit of my transferware collection. So if any of you have a store/booth and would like to come and have a look at all the transferware just email me and I’ll give you details. I’d like to sell it as a lot and not piece by piece.

I should have photos of my downstairs bathroom makeover in another week or two. I just need to get a shower curtain and a few accessories for it. Haven’t found a shower curtain that I like so far. Everything else is done and it looks good!

Hope you all have had a good weekend! It’s been a stormy one here!

This is the time of year when you really enjoy your garden so I'm glad that it's blooming so beautifully for you to enjoy. Looking forward to seeing the new bathroom redo. Your selling off some things and your collection of transferware reminds me of an expression I'm finding cute these days… "You can't have everything. Where would you put it?" All the best as you continue the process.

So many early bloomers. Your garden looks great. It got cold on us here (NW Arkansas) so I can't really work outside today. Looking forward to the bathroom reveal. Have a great rest of the weekend!

You are so lucky to have such a good start this season..nothing here, yet, even the cherry trees, usually in full bloom by now, haven't even started..been a cold, damp Spring…
I used to have that very mini-greenhouse..same price but no lights..doesn't work that well without lots of sun (or lights) so gave it to someone else..you are doing quite well with it..send some of that good sunshine up here to the NorthWest Coast, please!

Your garden looks so pretty, Manuela! I saw a grape hyacinth blooming in my back yard, but that's about it at the moment. Hope everything is well. Things are slow here although we had an open house last weekend. I'm thinking we are probably going to have to have another in a couple of weeks.

Yes things are starting to come out here too. It seemed like suddenly there were trees blooming and then I started to notice other things. We are getting lots of rain. I love your forget me nots, or pansies or whatever they are. I always love those kinds of flowers and they are so easy. Linda

It was great to see an update from you. Everything looks so colorful and pretty at your place. This is definitely the prettiest time of the year in Dixie.

My mom carried lilacs from own house in New England to transplant in Georgia and tended them for about 7 years before they bloomed as beautifully as she wanted.

I think she lost the bush in the recent drought, though. I'll have to ask her.

I've been exulting in my purple iris this year. They've not bloomed in years but suddenly they are blooming in every place I planted them!

Everything looks so beautiful. And it's such a treat to get to 'see' you once more. I've missed you terribly!

You have a lot in bloom. I noticed the azaleas – I have lots of buds and only a couple that have opened as of today, but the temps have dropped here also. 🙁 Would love to be there for your sale, but a little far away – Hope you do well.
    Have a great week.

Your garden looks lovely! I have a lilac bush, it blossomed the first year we were here, but not last year. I read somewhere on line that you can talk to Lilac bushes and it sometimes works, so I did. Hopefully none of the neighbors heard me threaten to cut it down if it did not bloom. We shall see if that helped in another few month.
I wish I lived near you, I would be at your garage sale.
    Hugs, Cindy

I am always so envious of your gardens. You have such a way with arranging flowers in your gardens so that they are so lovely in bloom.

I hope things are going well for you all as you are preparing to move. As often as we have had to move for Audley's job, it is never easy, especially when you have made a place yours. It's always bittersweet.

    Thinking of you,
    Jen

Thank you for sharing photos of your pretty spring flowers! I bet everything is getting gorgeous in your backyard by now. You have a lovely backyard! The Bradford pear trees and redbuds are blooming in our area now. Sure is a pretty time of the year. Hope you are taking some time to relax as you get your house ready to sell. (I'm glad it's not me: I remember how much work it was to get my mother's house ready to sell!) Bess

    Manuela!
    Hi there my friend!
You know – I used to have a lilac bush at one of our old houses and it did phenomenally. My MIL told me an old trick. Water it with ice. Don't know why but it worked. I'd empty the ice maker on it's roots every couple of days. (Course it could've been my imagination that this did the trick) but I had more blooms than I could cut.
    Just a thot!
    Have a great day! Karen

Gorgeous! This is the first year my lilac has bloomed profusely. It's wonderful! I've read that you must have a very cold winter for it to bloom properly the following spring, and that was the case this year, but it's also it's third year since planting, so maybe it just didn't feel comfy quite yet. 🙂
