Fall Fireplace Mantel Ideas

By Manuela Williams

Hi everyone! I took out my three boxes of fall decorations today. I’m so glad I organized all that stuff during the summer! Anyway, I’m playing around with my fireplace mantel in the living room today. I took a look at what I’ve done in the past. Which is a good idea. Then you know what works and doesn’t, what you liked what you didn’t like so much.

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links to Amazon and/or Etsy, which means that I may earn a small commission from some of the links in this post. Please see our Disclosure Page for more information.

Here’s a fall banner I made last year. The following photos are all before I painted this mantel white.

In 2007 I piled all sorts of faux fruits and pumpkins on my mantel…I really like the way that looks!

This year I wanted to find an old fallish picture at the thriftstore and use that on my mantel. I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for. Of course, a few weeks ago I remember seeing such a picture but I didn’t have the idea to use one then! Of course!

I found this one at Goodwill for a $2.35 & sprayed the frame apple green.

Then I just reused what I already had. You’ll recognize things from previous posts. Those red containers that the apple topiaries are in are just candlestick holders that I found at the thrift store long ago!

I’m not sure I’m going to keep it this way. I may take things off or I may add more stuff! Maybe larger pumpkins on the tall red candlesticks?

If I find just the picture I’m thinking of, then I will probably change it a bit!

So I did this in the morning than in the afternoon we went to see “GI Joe” which was a a fun movie if you like action flicks (which I do)! Tomorrow I’m planning on spending the day in my jammies doing absolutely nothing! I went to the library and got some movies and books. It’ll just be my daughter and me tomorrow so dinner will be something I have frozen and reheated. I plan on just relaxing all day! I’m having a lovely weekend so far and I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend too!

Your Sunday plans sound like the perfect day to me, Manuela! I'm almost hoping it rains here again tomorrow so I can play around with the stuff I bought at Michaels today, finish my newest Dexter book and maybe grab a nap ~ that would be a good Sunday in my book. I expect I will be on my own tomorrow, as hubby's working. Today I spent with my daughter, which was nice since she left the nest last year.

I know what you mean about a clean house, but I've realized it's impossible (especially with four kids) I'm lucky if I can enjoy a clean kitchen floor for more than 30 minutes. Must I say again how much I enjoy your blog?! It's trully inspiring and adds a little bit of loveliness to my day! Hope you had a relaxing weekend. Sometimes nothing is the best thing to do!

Your mantel looks great Manuela. But sounds like you're a lot like me. It will change up before it's all over! I also like action flicks as long as they aren't too graphic. I'm a big Sci-fi fan but unfortunately a lot of what they put out these days is more along the lines of horror. Have a great week. I'm cleaning and decorating like a maniac before my in-laws get here!
