Easter Decorating

By Manuela Williams

Easter decorations

I don’t have a lot of Easter decorations so I decided to group them all in the dining room since that’s where we’ll be having Easter dinner.

plastic egg garland

I made this plastic Easter egg garland from the eggs we used to hang outside. I wish I had a picture! It looks so cute to have a real tree filled with dangling eggs! Some of you probably still do this.

plastic egg garland

It was pretty easy to make. Just make sure your eggs have holes on both ends otherwise you’ll have to drill holes! That would be way too much trouble for me. I think a bag of plastic eggs with holes are about 75 cents at Target. I used a needle to help thread the invisible nylon thread I used through the holes. I put a dot of hot glue on the first and last egg’s holes to keep the thread from moving. The bows are hot glued to the tacks I used to hold the garland.

I had everything put out the way I wanted it and decided that the white of the buffet was too stark so I had to take everything off. I tried several different things and decided on some Easter grass. Then I had to put everything back!

Easter bottlebrush tree

This is a Bethany Lowe bunny below that I bought a couple of years ago at Tuesday Morning. Do you know, I haven’t been in that store for at least a year!

He used to be a blue bunny but I spray painted him with some left over apple green paint. The blue wasn’t working for me!

I love the Easter bottlebrush trees! The mercury glass egg is a ornament that I got at Pier One

Your decorations are lovely. What I often get from you is this thought… “The ____ (fill in a color) is not working for me so I just spray painted it ____.” Oh for all the things I got rid of because the color was not right. Due to short memory I hope you keep saying it.
Keep Sweet and enjoy your Easter celebration.

I have a bunch of chicken frozen in your recipes waiting to be cooked. Last week we had your Garlic Dijon chicken. it was great! and tonight the Cranberry chicken is cooking as I type this. Thank you so much for posting this idea and the recipe suggestions! If you come up with anymore recipes for the marinade/sauce I’d love to use them!

Hello! I think your displays are wonderful! I disagree, you DO have many Easter decorations. I think you could certainly spread some of these around, maybe the powder room or the kitchen table.

Take a look at some of my images of Easter items!
