I must admit…I am Alicia and I am colorfully challenged 🙁
Every wall in my house is antique white…every wall! I’ve wanted to so long to paint one wall in my living room green, but I am scared, scared of color, scared I won’t like it, scared to choose the wrong green…just plain scared!

But I love your walls! Love your colors! So what holds me back? I’m going to have to contemplate this and maybe just take a huge leap of faith and paint at least one wall! Lovely photos!

Go for it! Try one accent wall and if you don’t like it paint it antique white again.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I have to have my splashes of red all around the house. Loving the pretty blue that’s out there now too. I’m trying to work little bits and pieces of it into the house.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the red touches…Beautiful!!! You have such style, Manuela!

if you get the chance stop in and look at a bed I painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint…and a sneak peek at one of my client’s homes! Xo, Meme

BTW, how is your Golden Retriever? I havent seen him around here?

My walls are buttery yellow right now and are due to be painted in the fall. No doubt they will be a shade of yellow as it makes the house feel warm and cozy especially in winter. I see you like red but that’s not one of my colours. I like soft greens, pinks and aquas for accents. Your house always looks very cheerful! Thanks for visiting me. Pamela

I love the red in your home, Manuela! I have definitely associated the red and yellow with you! I don’t have one color that stands out in my home, but I do have touches of red in my yellow living room and more of a burgundy red in our great room.

Red and yellow! My daughter is famous for her love of green. She gets one shade of green and uses it everywhere. In her former house it was Liveable Green.

I know Realtors like everything beige but when we bought our house, it had a lot of color and it was just what we loved. The young couple who had done all the work (they basically spent each of their seven years here doing an improvement) said they loved color and used it throughout the house.

Which is why we have a yellow kitchen, butter yellow family room, yellow bedroom (albeit a little bright for even me but it is cheerful in winter), lavender wallpaper in the dining area (I did replace her deep purple curtains with my lace curtains), deep green carpeting throughout, etc.

I remember Lynette Jennings saying it was good to find the colors we love (two or three of them) and then using them in various hues through the house. That’s what I did in our large house and Stephanie does in her houses. While one room may have a deep red as accents, another will have more of a rose color.. but the room still flow into each other.

    LOVE your house.

A pretty combination!! I know someone that has a pale butter yellow with red toile wallpaper in her kitchen and it looks so pretty. What speaks to me? I am not sure – there are many colors I like a lot, but would not want to live with them on an everyday basis.
    Enjoy your evening.

I love blues and greens with white. Cool and refreshing. I am thinking about taking the tans and browns out of my dining room and putting in Kindred Spirit, a beautiful soft blue with white accents.

Thank you, Manuela, for being beautiful, colorful YOU! I love color. . . and I completely agree with the idea of your title, “Captivating color.” Every now and then I think that I am the only one who doesn’t have everything in my house done in the latest neutral and/or beach colors. But then I come here and see your beautiful reds and yellows and I know that color is indeed wonderful and heart-warming. 🙂

I love your colors. Reds and yellows always speak to me. I also love bright crazy Mexican colors — purples, deep blues, turquoise, splashes of orange. And I like shabby chic colors — tone on tone white, muted pinks and greens. Gosh. No wonder I find it hard to choose paint — I like them all.

Red and yellow? I love it! Red and purple are my two favorites, but seeing the yellow with it… yummmmmm

I think many of the same colors that speak to you heart speak to mine. I love reds and yellow, and I love the “right” shade of green. Right now, I’m into granny smith green.

I’m with you on the red and yellow. I’ve started to add more white and aqua but I gotta have me some sunshiny colors…they just make me smile.

The very same colors that speaks to your heart! I don’t know what I’d do without color. Whites and beige and grays bore me to tears.

Yellow and red are such happy colors! Together they are full of joy! I love blue and white with touches of red, yellow and green. Sometimes I add some purple just because.

So pretty, I love your house. The color that speaks to me lately is a soft robins egg blue. Into soft colors!! xoxo Clarice
