Hello there! Welcome! I’m Manuela, a frugal living and homemaking blogger living outside of Atlanta. A Cultivated Nest is a Frugal Living Blog started in 2007.
Do you have a “someday” home? Mine would be a sprawling farmhouse on two acres, filled with vintage/cottage style treasures, a pantry filled with food I’ve grown and canned, a picket fence all around the farmhouse with a huge cottage style border in front of it, a big vegetable garden out back, an orchard, berry bushes and a cute chicken coop too! And lots of dogs (love dogs).
But the reality is that we just downsized and now live in a house that shall we say….is a “fixer upper” and nothing like a farmhouse or even close to the acreage we used to have even in our old house! I don’t know if living on a farmhouse on lots of acres is going to ever happen for me.
So I’m cultivating what I have, the best way I can on a one income budget, trying to live with a grateful heart and embracing the now!
In trying to make the most of what I’ve got, I’m always scouring the Internet for great ideas that will help me and I really love sharing those ideas.
About A Cultivated Nest
I’m a big believer in taking my job as a home manager seriously. We live on one income so I’m always looking for ways to make the most of that money. Whether it’s making over something I found at the thrift store instead of buying new, or making everything from beauty products to seasoning mixes instead of buying them, even growing some vegetables – I’m always looking for ways to save!
My team and I write about ways you can save money, budget friendly organizing ideas, ways to manage your home more efficiently, easy decorating and craft projects, DIY beauty products, and recipes that are easy and budget friendly. I have a great team of contributors and since we’re in different places in life, they may have a different perspective on a subject than I would (which I hope you find helpful). Please check out the categories at the top of the blog for lots of great frugal living ideas.
My passion and goal is to encourage women to live a beautiful life right where they are now and to do it without breaking the bank (and maybe even saving some money too)! Making the most of what you have.
I’d love to help you, so grab a cup of coffee or tea and stay a while! So glad that you’re here!
