Hi everyone! OK this is THE simplest Christmas mantel I’ve ever done in my whole life 🙂 ! Since we made the mantel ourselves, I made sure to make a nice deep one so I would always have lots of room for stuff. But like I said in my last post, I’m keeping Christmas simple this year! So this year I have just 5 things on my mantel ~ amazing~ I know!
My Merry Christmas ornament wreath. I tell you, decorating with red comes in handy this time of year!

I used 2 large red lanterns which I filled with ornaments.
There’s a glittery star shaped Christmas box that I used in the center.
I flanked the box with two red glass decorations.
My Christmas Mantel 2013.
I had to move “my chair” so that the Christmas tree could go in it’s usual spot in front of the window and I’m enjoying the change of view!
I’m all done with my decorating and just have a few little additional Christmas touches to share with you next week!
It’s perfect – love the simplicity! I use a lot of red all through the year too!
Enjoy !
Leann
I LOVE it and think it’s perfect! So festive, yet not much to have to put away!
Love it! I am starting to like a less cluttered look for my own home, so this looks just right to me:)
love the Christmas balls in the lantern. also, love the bookcase taking up most of the wall. I really want a built in one like that.
Hi!
Those are Ikea bookcases.
Your mantel looks beautiful and certainly love the red you have used in your room. I like the pillow with the cardinal on it and the ornament wreath is gorgeous! Blessings, Pamela
But it’s still really pretty! I agree, decorating with red really does come in handy this time of year, it’s warm and festive. I LOVE that pillow!
It’s perfect! I need that Merry Christmas sign for my front door wreath.
This is so wonderful in its simplicity.
Have a lovely Christmas season ~ FlowerLady
Color packs a lot of impact so your mantel looks wonderfully seasonal, cheery and bright. Very you!
Just beautiful!
It’s perfect, Manuela!
It looks great, Manuela! Love that wreath. I also love that pillow you have sitting on the chair! You have some of the nicest pillows. : )
Very Pretty! Really like the wreath.
I have done so little decorating, I may not even take pics. Not getting with the program this year.
Enjoy your evening.
I love the way a house decorated with a lot of reds looks at Christmas. Yours is always lovely!
I did a little less this year but more than planned. Mostly because I have some items I enjoy getting out for one month a year.
Last year I think I had every ornament and decoration I owned displayed throughout the house but this year I concentrated on the living room-dining area and put just a couple items in the kitchen and a couple in the family room. I guess I can still remember how long it took to put everything away last year!
I also took another bag of items to the thrift shop, downsizing more by getting rid of more items that have no nostalgic meaning to my family.
I think it is perfect … simple, yet completely expresses your personality! I love the wreath. Did you make that one? The traditional colors of the holiday are just fab!
Thank you! Nope that one’s from Target I just added a few things. I had another one from Target a few years ago when they did vintage Christmas ornament wreaths but some of the balls got broken somehow in storage so I had to get a new one. They aren’t hard to make if you have the time.
I love it. I am going simple this year too but it’s not as cute as yours.
It’s wonderful! Red really works.
It looks lovely and I mean that. I think with the red in the room it’s just the perfect amount of color there.
Hi Manuela,
Simple and so pretty! I always enjoy the beauty of red for Christmas from others since I used so little of it. What a treat!
Beautiful!!!!
I love white with red. You did a wonderful job! Merry Christmas! -Bev
It looks wonderful Manuela! I also love your cardinal pillow! Can you share where it came from?
Hi Penny!
Thanks! I got that pillow back in September at Garden Ridge! I went to see what summer cushions they had on sale and they hardly had any and already had Christmas stuff out!
Awesome! LOVE red year round and yours is gorgeous:) Have a blessed day dear Manuela, HUGS!
That is one gorgeous wreath! I love the bright shiny colors! That’s really neat that you made the mantel yourself! I love it and I love that it’s white!
Thanks so much Stephanie!
the mantel . . . the room reflected in the mirror . . . the white chair with the sweet pillow . . . all add up to perfection.
Merry Christmas Manuela! Every thing looks so cheery and Christmassy!
Wishing you a fabulous holiday season and all good things in 2014!
Blessings,
Deb
Love the ornament wreath!
Having red décor does come in handy at Christmas time. Many years ago I had an employee who married in December for one very economical reason: Their church would already be beautifully decorated. She chose red and black as the colors for her wedding. She only had to decorate aisle pews for the wedding.
What a smart lady!
LOVE the mantel! It is so simple but such a pleasing result!
I love this room and would never have thought of the yellow walls with all the beautiful Christmas decorations. Do you mind telling us what your paint color is on your walls?!
Thank you Debbie! Almost all the walls in my home are yellow 🙂 The fireplace wall is a Benjamin Moore color called Squished Squash. The walls in the rest of the living room are a lighter shade of yellow from Benjamin Moore called Moonlight.
Those red Ikea lanterns, (featured in my current post) are pure inspiration to LIGHT up the house with festive and fun vignettes and your Christmas mantel is simply stunning!! You know that red reigns in my house, so to see this charming mantel of yours is total eye candy(cane) SWEET!

Red and white is such a classic, cheerful color combination, and none more so than in your lovely home Manuela. I’m impressed that you did the mantel yourselves. It looks beautiful! We are renting right now, and whoever did the mantel should be shot. Well, maybe not shot, but a good spanking at least. It’s about 4″ deep!! Really?! I’m jealous!
(Love that pillow too)
Thanks Doreen!
I know some people just give you a little sliver to work with. They probably don’t think that people might actually want to put something on the mantel! I really wanted a deep mantle since I like to layer things.
The red works so well doesn’t it?
Your mantel is lovely!
SO bright and cheery, Manuela….love it! 🙂
