I have an eclectic mix of vintage things that I’ve found over the past year that I didn’t really know what to do with. One of this – two of that – none of it related type of things. So instead of just keeping these things put away where I can’t enjoy them, I decided to dedicate one shelf in one of my bookcases just to the vintage treasures that I find thrifting.

I’m going to use that shelf like a rotating gallery. Putting out just a few things at a time (don’t want it to look like a cluttery mess). I think the danger of having lots of different things vs collecting one specific thing is that it can easily start to look messy!
I have one zinc lidded Atlas canning jar. It’s filled with some scrabble tiles for now.
I’m collecting vintage sifters and so far I’ve found two!
My red truck isn’t vintage – but I found a ziploc bag of mini Styrofoam balls at Goodwill last week and made some mini rag balls that I put in the back of the truck. So I wanted to use it too. There’s a couple of burlap ones, a toile one, a red and white polka dot one and one made with yellow ticking. They would be fun jar fillers don’t you think?
Fortunately these Ikea bookcases have doors! So when the doors are closed it all looks much neater but you can still see and enjoy what’s on the shelves.
It’s funny, this particular bookcase also houses most of my vintage books.
Looks like it’s becoming the “everything vintage” bookcase!

I love that little ref truck, and I have never seen vintage sifters with pretty graphics like the ones you have. They are always silver color around here. Love the way you style your shelves:>)

I love the mix you’ve put together here, Manuela! Especially how you’ve placed the red items all along so that your eye moves down the shelves. Love the books! I’ve been keeping my eye out for vintage books and have lucked out at a few garage sales this Summer.

It’s beautiful! Over the years my preference has turned to vintage.
Since I’ve seen your red truck, I’ve kept an eye out for something similar. Although I am not certain where I could put it now. 😉

Your bookcase looks great! I have that same truck and just love it. I keep mine full of vintage s&p shakers with the red plastic tops.

It looks great! LOVE the truck especially, and the way you styled the jar with the scrabble tiles.

Love the teapot collection and how the display seems to draw the eye upwards towards it. Maybe it’s the little red truck and it’s relation to the red teapot..

I didn’t even know there were such a thing as colorful sifters like that…love them! Your shelves looks so bright and cheery!

Great display case! I wonder how many of us have the Little House On The Prairie series in that exact same cardboard case? I know I do! My Aunt actually knew Laura Ingalls as an adult in Missouri, when my aunt was a little girl. She said they used to go to her house and Laura Ingalls would tell them stories. True story! My aunt has since passed, as has Laura, but I still have that collection that I got back in the sixth grade at the book fair in school! Love and Cherish them! If you haven’t toured Laura’s home in Missouri you should. Kind of a neat place if you enjoyed her stories!

I love those books! I re-read them every winter – it’s something I look forward to! How cool that your Aunt knew Laura Ingalls! I would love to tour her home. It’s on my list of things that I want to do when my husband retires.

I love a rotating space for decorating! I have developed one in a few places here. If my finished product looked half as good as yours, you would seen it blogged.
My favorite thing on this shelf is the jar with the scrabble letters. If our board were vintage and had great letters, I’d be copycatting you within the week.

I am loving all your vintage wares. Like you, I love to rotate decor so I can enjoy it all. You have everything displayed just beautifully. Your teapot collection is very lovely, too. Aren’t IKEA bookcases the best? We are going to be getting them for our downstairs family room – can’t wait!

I have enjoyed seeing your vintage lovelies. I adore the red truck and I want a flour sifter like the red one, I have never seen one, but I will keep looking.
That’s a wonderful, dedicate one bookcase to vintage collections. I can’t do that because all I have are vintage items and they are everywhere, because I love them best!
Hugs, Cindy

Keeping everything together in a dedicated space is an excellent idea Manuela! The flour sifters are adorable. Next week I’m going to Brimfield and if I see any I will think of you!

Love your display of vintage items! Gives me some ideas for my own displays. I have my Mama’s flour sifter and have incorporated it into a display of some of her kitchen and biscuit making utensils… biscuit cutter, aluminum biscuit pan, rolling pins, etc.

I too think your decorating style is most charming!! You have a great eye!!
