IKEA Kitchens & Storage Systems

Hey, everyone! One of the things I said I was unhappy with in my kitchen was the amount of storage I have. I need more storage or maybe less things! I’m working on the less things part… but in the mean time I decided to add bit more storage.  We had decided a few months ago on a storage system from Ikea and went there today to pick it up. Ugh! What a zoo! We went early but it was like being there on a Saturday afternoon. We were totally exhausted by the time we left!

IKEA kitchen and storage systems

I want to share some photos I took on my phone of the kitchens at Ikea and all the cool organizing storage systems they have. My daughter and I were oohing and ahhing over all the kitchens!

If I had to do it over again, I would go with an Ikea kitchen.  They are really affordable, look good, and the quality seems to be good based on all the bloggers and designers I’ve seen use them.

Ikea storage rails

Their rails that you can hang all kinds of things off of and their magnetic strips are really popular.

Small storage rails

I love all the deep organized drawers they have!

It seems to me that it would be so much easier to get pots and pans, baking dishes etc out of a drawer than from under a cabinet.

I’m obsessed with spice storage!

This seems like a very handy way to store your spices.

Here are a few more Ikea kitchen pictures.

I’ll show you what I got next week since my husband and daughter are going to put it all together this weekend.

I pick it out they put it together – good system don’t ya think :)

I’d love to redo my kitchen and have an Ikea kitchen, too. Not in the plan but I might think about adding that upper cabinet with the glass doors to a spot above a counter that has no upper cabinets. My dream has been to have one like that. I wonder if you can buy cabinet doors only – that would be nice if we could add new cabinet and drawer fronts to our old cabinets. Hmmm. . .thinking I should head for Ikea soon! Thanks for the inspiration.

Adrienne, you can buy just the doors and drawer fronts since everything is mix and match. The question would be whether or not they would fit your existing cabinet frames.

Love your system – Pick it out and let someone else do the work ! 😀 I am looking forward to seeing what you chose. My kitchen sure needs an overhaul.:/
    No Ikea close around here.
    Have a great weekend.

Can’t wait to see what you’re doing in your kitchen. I’m still waiting to visit my first Ikea showroom. I do like the idea of drawers over cabinets very much. Just having the things come sliding toward you instead of you falling in to get stuff…great idea.

I love looking at the kitchens and organization stuff at Ikea. I always come away from there with lots of ideas but no money to implement them. What I wouldn’t give for a new kitchen! I’ve heard good things about their kitchens as well. Looking forward to seeing what you picked up! Oh and I love your system, sounds perfect to me! 😉

You are the second blogger to post on Ikea’s kitchens in the last week …. I have just got to make a trip to Atlanta (or Charlotte) and check them out! I love the storage possibilities!

    Thanks for sharing!!
