V-Day Decorations Part 1

By Manuela Williams

Hello everyone! I had some fun making Valentine decorations with paper and mod podge over the weekend. I have a few things to show you today and some more on Wednesday.

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links to Amazon and/or Etsy, which means that I may earn a small commission from some of the links in this post. Please see our Disclosure Page for more information.

I bought the X and O at Jo-Ann’s. I spray painted them red because I knew I didn’t want to decoupage the letters front and back with the red toile tissue paper (too lazy I guess :-).

Toile XO – you know I have to work some toile in somewhere!

This is a glittery heart that I bought last year at Target in the $1 section. They hardly have anything worth getting this year. You can’t tell from the picture, but the paper behind the heart is pink toile

My one apothecary jar filled with some little red hearts from Hobby Lobby

This pot is the same one that I decoupaged harlequin paper on (there’s a picture of them in the fireplace post down below). I just took some Valentine scrapbook paper and glued it on top. Next to paint, paper and glue are my BFF’s!

I got this cute LOVE banner last year from another blogger. I think I got it from Bristol Honey Bend Vintage but I’m not positive!

That’s actually a ornament I got at the thriftstore after Christmas. When I saw it I thought it would be perfect for Valentines Day! They look like two love birds sitting inside a heart. I added the large prism on the bottom.

I don’t know if all those things will stay where they are. I have to finish making all the the other things and then I’ll probably shuffle stuff around.

I’m glad so many of you found “dump cooking” a new concept! I never know if what I’m posting is something everyone is already doing or not! Todays dinner is crockpot roast beef because I knew I was going to be busy cutting and gluing most the day!

I’d also like to extend a warm welcome to all the new readers to my blog. I don’t know where you all are coming from, but I’m glad to see you. I’m doing my best to get around to say hi to everyone. Don’t think I’m ignoring you, it may take me a little time to make my way around to you, but I’ll get there!

Oh! So great! The hearts string, the x and o. All the hearts! Just love it with your toile!
Just a few days before, we took a leave of absence from our job. Which we thought would be 3-4 months, not 3 years! lol We stayed at South of The Border for four days. Our airplanes were flying out of a farmers field, near by. So parked the Motor Home at South of The Border. I was too sick to get out. But Hubby had a blast. I wanted so to up in the hat elevator. I love the hearts in the apothecary jar! They would make great place card holders! Love the white heart. I guess no Valentine decor. here. Too much other going on. Soon as it drys up, we are taking the armoire, out from the bedroom wall to the family room through the french doors. Then I can get the family room together! I got a lot of new readers too, I having a hard time keeping up. Everything is so lovely for Valentines!

You will be getting more valentines things soon. Bob inadvertently left your package in the car all week. I am going to mail it myself tonight.

I love your decorations. I have a little decorations to post tomorrow.

I also do a little side bar “what’s for dinner tonight”. I get a lot of comments about it. I love the dump recipes and am going to try them soon!

Blessings and thanks so much for sharing!

    MANUELA,
    Your blog is lovely.

You entered my bird nest 103rd blog giveaway, and I’m glad you did. I found you.

Your Valentine corner is lovely, and great ideas for us thrifty hsoppers. =0)

    RE dump soup:
I have my own version of a quick and inexpensive and easy fix meal.(sometimes free!)

Whenever i cook a meal, I take any little bits of leftovers i htink no one will want to mess with, and i put them in quart containers in the freezer. When a couple of them are full, i take them out and thaw them in the frig or microwave. I put everything in them ( veggies, potatoes, meat, noodles, rice, broth from steaming veggies, gravy, french fires -on the rare occassions we have them- salsa, cheese, even pie crust extras). About anything you can name, except fruits and pastries- never tried that yet.
The soup is delicious!! Just put it in the crock pot for the day, and don’t tell anyone what is in it! =0))

    Blessings, and good luck,
    Barbara Jean

Oh, I just love your blog! I so much enjoy my visits here! 🙂 I love ALL of your decorations for Valentines Day! The toile tissue paper is beautiful, and the letters look wonderful! The love banner you found is so cute, too! 🙂 Actually, EVERYTHING is cute! 🙂

By the way, I was wondering if you happen to remember where you bought the beautiful red on white pattern fabric that is around the little table on your blog header. I have been looking for something just like that for a while now, and have had no luck. I am looking for a bright red on a clean, crisp white background, and this seems to be scarce. Just curious…

I hope you have a beautiful day! 🙂
