Thrifty Thursday

By Manuela Williams

cherubs
Hi everyone! I wanted to show you a couple of little things I got at the thriftstore last week.

Those little cherub prints above were 45 cents each and I thought they’d be perfect for a narrow space I have between my linen closet and the Blue Toile Room.
Paintedframe
So I painted the frames white and I think they look perfect in that narrow spot!
cherub2
Now I need to find a few more to fill up that wall!

plateholders
They also had a couple of iron plate holders. I got these two.
fleur
I chose one with a fleur and the other is sort of plain but really big and can hold a platter. You know I love plates and am always looking for things to hold and display them.
obelisk
I also got these garden ornaments. Do you see that there’s one stuck inside the other. I haven’t been able to pull it out yet! I’ll paint them before I put them in the garden – as soon as I can separate them LOL.
mosaicset

I thought about buying this mosaic set…but didn’t. I would have bought just the bench but they were selling it as a set and wouldn’t let me! Darn! So cute right?
bench
I’m linking to Tales From Bloggeritaville for Thrifty Thursday, so be sure to stop by there to see everyone’s thriftstore finds.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Great finds, Manuela! Those cherub pictures are so precious and look much better with the frames painted. Love the plate holders, too! I love to keep things like that on hand whether for plates or plaques or even picture frames.

Are you going to regret not getting the bench? Love the frames painted white. Now I will have to get some white spray paint. Any particular one or just anything?

Thats a shame about the bench, it was really cute. The cherubs look good in their "new" white frames. As usual you found lots of really great stuff! Good luck seperating the obelisks! If you can't get them apart does it help to know I didnt notice it until you pointed it out?

Great finds! I don't know how you left the bench and the chairs behind. They are so cute. You could use the chairs for plants?

    April 22, 2010 at 6:38 am

Nice stuff, sorry that they wouldn't let you take the bench, but that probably just means that there is another bench somewhere waiting for you to be discovered.

You not only have a good eye for things, but you have a great thrift store! By the way, I would suggest that you spray some WD-40 on the garden tower things that are stuck together. Squirt it right into the places where they are stuck. Wait a while, come back and try again. 🙂

Some wonderful finds. The cherubs look right at home hanging there on your wall. I love the iron plate holders–they would go perfectly with my "decor" so if you can't find a place for them – (;0)
Too bad about the bench but I'm sure there is something else just as wonderful waiting for you to find it.

Great finds. The little cherubs really stand out now with the frames painted white.
I would try some WD40 on the metal garden towers and see if that untangles the two. Makes you wonder if someone donated them because they couldn't get them unstuck.

Manuela, I love seeing your thrifty finds, it amazes me how you can always find the perfect place for all your treasures. Love the iron plate or picture stands as well. I stopped in Marietta on my way to Chattanooga last week. Stopped at the GW, but really fell in love with "A Classy Flea" have you been there? I was impressed and found a few treasures there, I will post my finds soon. The GW there was big, but not too many good deals, although I found a really cool hammock there. Blessings, Marla

So Manuela, which GW stores do you go to in Atlanta? I also saw a new thrift store on the other side of the Intersate and went in to look around, I think it is Union Missions or something like that, I didn't have much time but found 3 or 4 treasures right off the bat that I had to have, again I am looking forward to posting these and others. Blessings, Marla

Lovely finds. Oooh, that bench so had your name on it! Too bad they would seperate them, or that you couldn't have purchased the whole set. I am sure you would have found places to put these lovely pieces.

Those cherub pictures are darling! Just perfect right there!
    Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
