Pillow Changes and Book Winner

By Manuela Williams

I’m doing a little updating and changed out my pillows in my living room to get a fresh new look!

updating a room with new pillows
It’s also a really inexpensive way to get a new look since pillows cost very little (or you can make your own).

ticking pillow with ruffled edge
Isn’t this pillow just the cutest! I love the contrast of the red ticking with the white ruffle. I got this pillow slip from etsy and just used one of my existing pillows as the insert.

Country Living Collection green pillow
This pillow is from the Country Living Collection at KMart. I just loved the ruffled edge and of course the color is my favorite shade of green.

red ticking and toile pillows
I’ve had these red ticking pillows since forever. I think they may have been Pottery Barn from about 8 years ago but I’m not sure.  I paired them with some new toile and gingham pillows (pillow slips from ebay). I added some pom pom fringe to these.
toile and gingham pillow
Ticking and toile, gingham and toile, also polka dots and toile are all favorite pattern combinations! I’ve been looking for a polka dot and toile pillow for some time now – I may just have to make one.
updating a room by adding new pillows

You don’t have to do drastic stuff to get a new look! I made just a few easy and inexpensive changes to get a fresh look in my living room.

I hope you are all have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

I love the colors in that bouquet. The pillows are very cute. I thought it was interesting that the ticking worked so well with the more sophisticated fabrics. i love ticking. I'm trying to come up with a new look for my den. It's difficult because of the wall of multi-colored books. I thinking I should go with a more subdued room that doesn't fight with the books. The walls in my house are all beigh and I'm beyond painting myself and can't afford to pay, so I have to bring in color in other ways. I'm going to look through you blog you do color so beautifully. Linda

Hi Manuela! So good to hear from you! I think your pillows look so pretty, and the fresh colors just makes me want to make over a room. But of course I can't keep changing everytime I see something that I love. I often wish I had enough rooms that I can decorate each in all of my favorite styles. LOL!!! Deb
