Hi everyone! I just wanted to pop in to let you all know a few things that are happening “behind the scenes” so to speak. 🙂 I’m getting a new look for one thing! It’s still being worked on so please forgive any glitches or things that look odd.
* I don’t know why, buy almost everyone’s comments are going into spam. Even if you’ve been commenting for years, even if I approve you to comment….sigh…I don’t know why. It started about a month ago and there’s nothing I can do about it. I’m not getting my comments emailed to me anymore. Hopefully it’ll mysteriously go back to the way it was at some point just as it mysteriously started doing this. But that means I don’t see your comments until I actually look in my spam folder and I get hundred’s of that stuff a day and then I have to manually approve your comment. So it might take a while for your comment to show up and I’ll probably miss a few. I really do appreciate those of you that take the time to comment and I’m sorry for this inconvenience. If you need to ask me a question please use the contact form or email me directly.

*I have a lot going on right now with getting everything done so we can put this house up for sale in July. Right now I’m trying to get my vegetable garden in and shape up all my garden beds before it gets too hot to be outside. We’ve already had a few days in the 90’s. Then I have a lot of painting and decluttering to do. I will be having other people post on this blog starting tomorrow. Although, this blog is not our main source of income it is a source of income and I need to keep it going (otherwise I’d just say I’m taking a break and come back when everything is done). You will still see 1 or 2 posts a week from me. Hopefully, you will enjoy and find some helpful information from the other posts.
* email subscribers – I actually pay to have my posts delivered to you by email. I’m finding that quite a few people subscribe by email but then they rarely open and read the emailed post. Since I am getting close to the next payment tier, I will be having someone go through the email subscriptions next week and they will start deleting those that haven’t been opened at least 60% of the time. You can subscribe via Bloglovin (there’s a link at the end of every post after my name) and still receive my posts emailed to you (and it doesn’t cost me anything).
That’s it and I hope you’ll all bear with me until I can catch my breath and then things will go back to normal!
Thanks!

Your new look is great already! You can take me off your list since you pay. I have you on my blog roll and follow it.

The same thing is happening to me, all of my comments are going to spam, ugh!
Manuela Williams says
How odd!! Well at least it’s not just me 🙂 Maybe it’s a WordPress problem?
tammy says
Wow, I didn’t know you had to pay to email subscribers…go ahead and remove me; I have you bookmarked!
Manuela Williams says
Hi Tammy,
You don’t have to pay for subscribers if you use Google feedburner. I don’t use that free service. Could you please unsubscribe yourself next time you get an email newsletter. I’m not the one who’s going through the list. Thanks!
FlowerLady Lorraine says
That is strange, but I hope there is a way you can resolve this problem.
You’ve got a lot on your plate right now and I pray you will feel peace all around you as you take care of things.

Thank you!

Oh, that’s interesting to know that you pay to send us the e-mails. You can take me off the list also then. I normally just click on your blog manually because I loved seeing your header and sometimes I would go back to your archives and look at OLD posts. I wanted to be on the e-mail list for the times you did take a break and then suddenly you would be back and it was a surprise to see a post from you!
Just curious as to why you’re not putting your house up for sale until July, isn’t the spring the best time to do that?
Thanks for letting us peek into your little world.
Manuela Williams says
Hi Melissa
Because school starts at the end of August so people will be looking to move and get settled before the new school year. Because I have a million things to fix in the house before we list it and I couldn’t get everything done by spring. Because the gardens look best in summer (especially the huge vegetable garden) and this house is all about the gardens.
Melissa can you unsubscribe yourself next time you get an email newsletter. I’m not doing the culling and I don’t know how easy it is to find people by email on the list.
Thanks!

Love the new look!

I get yours by email. I don’t see a bloglovin button to join. Love your new blog decor.
Betty says
I found the button. I thought that was a twitter button. HA! HA!

Ah, the trials and tribulations of BlogLand– finding “real” messages in one’s spam folder has to be the worst!
I’m finding myself challenged to blog regularly–once a week is actually an accomplishment nowadays although the chicks provide a never-ending source of inspiration–so my bonnet is off to you as you juggle your garden, a house on the market and the blog (also family, friends, real life…).
I know that your lovely style and colors will inspire some couple to fall in love with your home as those of us in BlogLand have done!!! So get ready to move, girl!

Love the new look. Don’t over tax your self with all the work you have ahead of you.

I love the new look. Totally understand about getting the house ready to sell and all the nitpicky things you want to get done. I know I’m weird, but I used to love to move. It was the adventure of starting over in a new town or place I think. Now we’re faced with moving too and I don’t really want to leave. I must be getting old. 😉
Manuela Williams says
Well all that packing up….and you don’t know if you’ll really going to like the new place. Believe me I have my doubts about moving every day but the stairs are really bothering my knees. I can garden all day long, but going up and down these stairs is something else! I also think after a while you just want to feel rooted to one place. We are thinking about renting when we move so we’re probably looking at moving again down the road. So I’m trying to look at it like an adventure.

I love the new look! I’m sorry I have been commenting, I have so much going on here that I usually end up just reading when I have time. I became super brave and left blogger and went to self hosting. So far, so good and I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner. Just as soon as I get all my old blogger links straightened out, I’ll be spending more time on Bloglovin for my reading.
Manuela Williams says
Your header is cute! It’s quite scary moving over to WP but you’ll like it (as long as there are no technical difficulties) 🙂
Cynthia says
I have had this happen with a couple of my responses with my blog. Thank goodness not too many. I love your blog and take the time you need. I know selling a home takes a lot of focus and energy. I never did Bloglovin before. I will try it out. I don’t want to miss your posts.
Cynthia
Manuela Williams says
Thanks Cynthia! Hmmm…..you must already have a subscription via bloglovin then? I think you have to sign into your bloglovin account and choose daily or weekly email and then they send you one email with all your bloglovin subscriptions. At least that what I get for my subscriptions 🙂
Cynthia says
I just tried and it says my email address is already in use for Bloglovin.
Tracy says
Love your blog. I am now following you on bloglovin. Please remove my name from your email list and hopefully it will help you save money. Take care and thank you.
Manuela Williams says
OK Thanks Tracy!
