DIY Cupcake Liner Heart Wreath

Hi  everyone!

I decided I wanted a new wreath for Valentine’s Day and really couldn’t see spending any money on one as I have a  small plastic bin of Valentine decorations already (it’s one day – how many decorations do you need :) !

So I decided to remake that wreath above which I made last year. I had a bunch of cupcake liners that I got from Michael’s and decided to incorporate them somehow.

The red and white polka dot Mary Engelbreit liners were 30 cents! The rest are from the dollar spot at Michael’s.

Go ( here ) for the tutorial on the burlap Valentine wreath which is the basis for this cupcake liner Valentine wreath.

It’s not complicated! Basically it’s just heart shape cut out of foam core  (or you could use a cereal box etc). I took the center coffee filter flower off for this year’s wreath.

I just pinched the liners on the bottom and put a dab of hot glue on the heart where you want to place your cupcake liner. Then press your liner down. I worked my way around the outside first. I thought it looked pretty cute like this and was tempted to leave it. But I wanted to see what it would look like filled in so I marched on!

If you do this, please be careful with the hot glue gun! The liners are thin and even though I had popsicle  stick that I was using to press the liners onto the heart, I forgot one time and used my finger. OUCH!!!!

What a great (and nonfattening ) way to use the cute cupcake liners! If I saw those red and white ME liners for 30 cents I would buy out the store:>)

LOL! I think someone did because all I found was that one. I didn’t know it was 30 cents until I checked out!

Hi Manuela. It’s nice to see you here again! I hope you are doing well. This is such a simple and pretty idea. I thought it was fabric you used. Thanks for sharing it. Blessings, Pamela

Thanks! It’s nice to be back.

Fabric would be good too. Although then I’d use a Styrofoam wreath so I could just poke the fabric in instead of trying to glue it.

What a cute idea! Nine buy on the cc liners. I use to use the glue gun a lot and walked around with burned fingers.

Very cute, Manuela! I loved last year’s, too! Oh gosh, I know ~ I burned myself badly today on hot glue. Love your toile covered letters that I can just see in the one picture! That looks like a good project, too.

Another creative repurposing idea…You are FULL of them. The wreath turned out fantastic looking.
Hot glue guns….argh…a necessary evil when crafting…SOOOO hot…and you too?! why do I always forget at some point during the middle of the project or craft and USE MY FINGER???? dohhhh…Every time I say I’ll never do that again…but I still end up with burns every time….. :-) Anticipating what your weekend project will be! Hugs to you. Thanks for sharing the sweet Valentines craft.

    That is really cute!

I don’t usually do much decorating for Valentine’s just add some red around the kitchen and living room.

I love simple projects like this one and I think my younger girls would like to give it a try!

I hope they do – it couldn’t be easier.I just always worry about kids using a glue gun. I don’t think white glue would work but maybe the hot glue on the low setting? I just never use the low setting because it takes too long to heat up and I have to squeeze so hard to get any glue to come out of the gun.
