Description

It’s easy to make your own delicious sandwich bread at home with only a couple of ingredients. Save money and eat healthier bread by making my easy homemade white bread recipe!


Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 2/3 cup warm water, divided
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4.55 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 tablespoons softened butter, divided

Instructions

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, empty your packet of active dry yeast into a 1/3 cup of warm water and let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. After five minutes, pour your remaining water into the yeast mixture.
  3. Then add in sugar, salt, flour, and 2 tablespoons softened butter. Use the bread hook on your mixer to mix your bread dough for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove your dough, form it into a ball, and place it back into your mixing bowl. Cover the bowl with cling wrap or a towel and let it rest on the counter for 90 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°. Grease a bread pan with butter and lightly flour the pan.
  6. Remove your bread dough and fork back into a ball by folding the dough under with your hands. Place the dough in your bread pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the bread is golden brown. Then brush the top of your homemade white bread with melted butter, slice and enjoy!
